Luego de un tiempo prolongado, se pudo. La familia Puerta junta interés, decisión y algo de dinero para poder hacer un viaje necesario a las raíces. Así fue nuestro retorno, para algunos, luego de muchos años. Lo importante es que logramos volver y sentir esa energía de casa, la energía de los abuelos cuando nos recibían con amor, esos grandes abrazos y sonrisas que llenaban nuestros corazones.

Es una deuda que tenemos todo, la casa familiar está deshabitada, desde la ciudad. Cada uno ha aportado para hacer algunas refracciones y por lo menos estar acta para las lluvias y no sufrir tanto con el agua. También se levantó la cerca para evitar los animales de rebaño y, pues, todavía falta un montón de cosas por hacer. Lo importante es que todos estén dispuestos a retomar.

Fue genial pasar la tarde con mi mamá y mi hijo, junto a los tíos, debajo de la mata de mango, la de tamarindo, el sonido del buco ahí cerquita de nuestros pies, como en los viejos tiempos. Armonía, ilusión y recuerdos que se hacen presentes para volver a tener en cuenta el sitio que nos vio crecer y al cual todos coincidimos, debemos volver.

After a long time, it was possible. The Puerta family gathered interest, decision and some money to be able to make a necessary trip to the roots. This was our return, for some of us, after many years. The important thing is that we were able to return and feel that energy of home, the energy of the grandparents when they received us with love, those big hugs and smiles that filled our hearts.

It is a debt that we all have, the family home is uninhabited, from the city. Each one has contributed to make some repairs and at least be ready for the rains and not suffer so much with the water. The fence was also erected to avoid the herd animals and, well, there are still a lot of things to do. The important thing is that everyone is ready to get back to work.

It was great to spend the afternoon with my mom and my son, with my uncles and aunts, under the mango and tamarind trees, the sound of the buco close to our feet, just like in the old days. Harmony, illusion and memories that are present to keep in mind the place that saw us grow up and to which we all agree, we must return.
