CARACAS CULTURAL CIRCUIT: TWO BLOCKS OF CULTURE

In the geographic area that goes from Carabobo Park, on Avenida Universidad, to Los Caobos Park, on Avenida México, in Caracas, Venezuela, there is a cultural circuit that intertwines history, art and science. In this axis, elements of the identity and heritage of the Venezuelan nation and of universal culture are evident.
In the cultural circuit that we present, institutions of great interest to our country can be observed, such as the National Art Gallery, the Ateneo de Caracas, the Teresa Carreño Theater, the Museum of Sciences, the Museum of Fine Arts, erected as a collective cultural heritage where visitors enter into an open dialogue with the past and the present.

CIRCUITO CULTURAL DE CARACAS: DOS CUADRAS DE CULTURA

En el ámbito geográfico que va desde el parque Carabobo, en la Avenida Universidad, hasta el parque los Caobos, en la Avenida México, en Caracas, Venezuela existe un circuito cultural que entrelaza historia, arte y ciencia. En este eje se evidencian elementos propios de la identidad y del patrimonio de la nación venezolana y de la cultura universal.
En el circuito cultural que presentamos se observan instituciones de gran interés para nuestro país como la Galería de Arte Nacional, El Ateneo de Caracas, el Teatro Teresa Carreño, el Museo de Ciencias, el Museo de Bellas Artes erigidos como un patrimonio cultural colectivo donde los visitantes entran en un diálogo abierto con el pasado y el presente.

The route that goes from Carabobo Park to Los Caobos Park is a physical route, but it is also a moment to be in contact with the cultured city, lover of fine arts, the Caracas of the possible.

El trayecto que va desde Parque Carabobo hasta el Parque Los Caobos es una ruta física, pero también es un momento para estar en contacto con la ciudad culta, amante de las bellas artes, la Caracas de lo posible.

Given the scope of the Peakd platform and the significance and importance of this cultural axis, it is interesting to achieve this articulation to show the world the wonder that we Venezuelans have.
Personally, I always do the tour on foot, starting from Parque Carabobo, since there is a Caracas Metro station there that makes the tour easier, and then from this point I continue towards the National Art Gallery, I continue walking towards the Teresa Carreño Theater and the Ateneo de Caracas to the Plaza los Museos where the Science and Fine Arts museums are located.

Dado los alcances que tiene la plataforma Peakd y la trascendencia e importancia de este eje cultural, es interesante lograr esta articulación para mostrar al mundo la maravilla con que contamos los venezolanos.
En lo particular siempre hago el recorrido caminando, partiendo desde Parque Carabobo, ya que allí se encuentra una estación del Metro de Caracas que facilita el recorrido, y luego desde este punto sigo hacia la Galería de Arte Nacional, continúo, caminando, hacia el Teatro Teresa Carreño y el Ateneo de Caracas hasta la Plaza los Museos donde se encuentran los museos de Ciencias y Bellas Artes

This walk unites the classic and the modern, the local with the universal, between trees and concrete structures art is present with great force and is consolidated as one of the most complete and perfect itineraries for lovers of fine arts in the Metropolitan area of Caracas in particular and for Venezuela in general. It is a journey through the elements that show Caracas as a cultured and cosmopolitan city.

Esta ruta cultural se convierte en un acto de afirmación donde el arte, la ciencia y la historia son herramientas que hacen posible revalorizar la fe en los seres humanos.
Este paseo une lo clásico y lo moderno, lo local con lo universal, entre árboles y estructuras de concreto el arte se hace presente con gran fuerza y se consolida como uno de los itinerarios más completos y más perfecto para los amantes de las bellas artes en el área Metropolitana de Caracas en particular y para Venezuela en lo general. Es un viaje por los elementos que muestran a Caracas como una ciudad culta y cosmopolita.

A lo largo del recorrido cultural notaremos elementos de gran simbolismo, donde se observan joyas arquitectónicas, veremos también la fusión sincrónica entre arte y ciencias como la biología, la antropología, la paleontología y la biodiversidad expresada en la ecología que inspiran admiración en los visitantes por su gran esteticismo.

National Art Gallery (GAN)
Inside it is found a large part of Venezuela's artistic heritage. The history of the country is told through the paintings that rest inside. There are works by great masters such as Tito Salas, Arturo Michelena, Armando Reveron, Carlos Cruz Diez, etc.
In it, one can perceive an important collection of indigenous art that reflects the cultural and artistic wealth of the original peoples of Venezuela, as well as elements of pre-Hispanic art

Galería de Arte Nacional (GAN)
En su interior se encuentra gran parte del patrimonio artístico venezolano. La historia del país se narra a través de las pinturas que reposan en su interior. Se observan obras de grandes maestros como Tito Salas, Arturo Michelena, Armando Reveron, Carlos Cruz Diez, etcétera.
En ella se percibe una importante colección de arte indígena que refleja la riqueza cultural y artística de los pueblos originarios de Venezuela, así como elementos del arte prehispánico

Teresa Carreño Theater:
It is an architectural jewel of concrete and modernist curves that emerges as the most important cultural complex in Venezuela. This theater houses artistic elements such as operas, ballet, symphonic concerts. World-class artists in different genres have also performed in its spaces. Its most iconic halls are the Ríos Reyna and José Félix Ribas.

Teatro Teresa Carreño:
Es una joya arquitectónica de concreto y curvas modernistas que emerge como el complejo cultural más importante de Venezuela. Este teatro alberga en su interior elementos artísticos como las óperas, el ballet, los conciertos sinfónicos. También se han presentado en sus espacios artistas de talla mundial en diferentes géneros. Sus salas más icónicas son la Ríos Reyna y José Félix Ribas.

Caracas Athenaeum:
Founded in 1931, this institution has been the cradle of theatrical, literary, plastic arts, and musical movements. Its chamber theater, cinematheque, and training workshops have trained a large number of artists in various disciplines. Writers such as José Ignacio Cabrujas, the kinetic art of Jesús Soto, painters and sculptors such as Alejandro Otero, musicians such as Aldemaro Romero, poets and essayists such as Aquiles Nazoa have all been present in its halls.

Ateneo de Caracas:
Fundado en 1931, esta institución ha sido cuna de movimientos teatrales, literarios, artes plásticas, musicales. Su teatro de cámara, cinemateca y talleres de formación han preparado a un gran número de artistas en diversas disciplinas. Por sus salones han estado presentes escritores como José Ignacio Cabrujas, el arte cinético de Jesús Soto, pintores y escultores como Alejandro Otero, músicos del perfil de Aldemaro Romero, poetas y ensayista como Aquiles Nazoa.

Museum of Sciences:
This facility, founded in 1875, unites art and science, and includes collections of anthropology, biology, and archaeological sites, objects, and tools from ancient civilizations that inhabited Venezuela. Paleontology, where fossil remains of dinosaurs and other prehistoric species are exhibited; in its spaces you can observe the biodiversity of Venezuela expressed in its flora and fauna and in various ecosystems. This museum hosts many interactive exhibitions in areas such as science and technology

Museo de Ciencias:
Este recinto, fundado en 1875, une el arte y la ciencia, abarca colecciones de antropología, biología y yacimientos arqueológicos, objetos y herramientas de antiguas civilizaciones que habitaron a Venezuela. Paleontología donde se exhiben restos fósiles de dinosaurios y otras especies prehistóricas; en sus espacios se puede observar la biodiversidad de Venezuela expresada en su flora y fauna y en diversos ecosistemas.
En este museo se realizan muchas exposiciones interactivas de áreas como ciencias y tecnologías

Museum of Fine Arts (MBA): close this tour with a visit to this museum. Its halls house works ranging from Egyptian art and pre-Columbian ceramics to paintings by Picasso, Matisse, Rodin, and Venezuelan masters such as Armando Reverón. Its collections of Egyptian art, Chinese ceramics, and European sculpture contrast with exhibitions by contemporary artists. The interior courtyard is an oasis of tranquility where time seems to stand still.

Museo de Bellas Artes (MBA): cierra este recorrido con una visita a este museo. Sus salas albergan obras que van desde el arte egipcio y la cerámica precolombina hasta pinturas de Picasso, Matisse, Rodin, y maestros venezolanos como Armando Reverón. Sus colecciones de arte egipcio, cerámica china y escultura europea contrastan con exposiciones de artistas contemporáneos. El patio interior es un oasis de tranquilidad donde el tiempo parece detenerse.
