Mein Weg zur Buzzparty in Hamburg

am letzten Freitag habe ich mich, wie viele andere auch, auf den Weg nach Hamburg gemacht um an der @Buzzparty 2024 teilzunehmen.
Mein Navigationsgerät im Auto hat mir anfänglich eine Ankunftszeit von 17:37 Uhr genannt, was mir schon ziemlich unwahrscheinlich vorkam. Google-Maps hatte mir bereits zuvor eine Reisezeit von über 5 Stunden prophezeit, was eine Ankunftszeit von ca. 19:10 Uhr entsprach.

Last Friday, like many others, I made my way to Hamburg to take part in the @Buzzparty 2024.
My navigation device in the car initially gave me an arrival time of 17:37, which seemed pretty unlikely to me. Google Maps had already predicted a travel time of over 5 hours, which corresponded to an arrival time of around 19:10.
Zu dem Meeting in Hamburg, zu dem @tibfox eingeladen hat, haben sich insgesamt 30 Personen angemeldet. Gefreut hatte ich mich darauf, den @reiseamateur kennenzulernen und den @solymi wieder zu sehen. Beide waren aber wohl leider verhindert und konnten daher nicht kommen. Es sind zwar auch weitere Personen nicht erschienen aber dennoch haben sich insgesamt 27 Personen das Hivebuzz-Badge für das Meetup verdient.
A total of 30 people registered for the meeting in Hamburg hosted by @tibfox. I was looking forward to meeting @reiseamateur and seeing @solymi again. Unfortunately, however, both were unable to attend. Other people didn't show up either, but a total of 27 people earned the Hivebuzz badge for the Meetup.
Im Hotel Best Western angekommen bin ich dann so gegen 19.30 Uhr. Bei dem Hotel hatte ich ziemliches Glück. Über die Webseite https://www.hrs.de/ habe ich das Zimmer zum halben Preis bekommen (94 € / Nacht). Für ein 4-Sterne-Hotel in zentraler Lage am Bahnhof ist das ein echtes Schnäppchen.
Generell hatte ich auch überlegt, Nachts um 4 Uhr loszufahren um mir eine Nacht zu sparen. Am ende habe ich es aber so gemacht, damit ich am Morgen ausgeruht bin und so den ganzen Tag (und die Nacht) am Event teilnehmen kann.
I arrived at the hotel Best Western at around 7.30 pm. I was quite lucky with the hotel. Via the website https://www.hrs.de/ I got the room at half price (94 € / night). That's a real bargain for a 4-star hotel in a central location by the train station.
In general, I had also considered leaving at 4 a.m. to save myself a night. In the end, however, I did it this way so that I was rested in the morning and could attend the event all day (and night).
Eigentlich dachte ich, ich gehe noch irgendwo eine Kleinigkeit Essen und Trinken allerdings war ich dann doch ziemlich erschöpft und habe nur noch eine kleine Erkundungstour in der Nähe gemacht.
Am Bahnhof habe ich mich schon einmal Schlau gemacht, welches ÖPNV-Tickets ich brauche und welche Bahn ich am nächsten Tag benutzen muss um zu den Landungsbrücken zu kommen.
Außerdem habe ich schon einmal nach Shops gesehen, da die Tochter ja ein Souvenir erwartet.
I actually thought I'd go somewhere for a bite to eat and a drink, but I was pretty exhausted and only went on a short exploratory tour in the area.
At the main station, I found out which public transport tickets I needed and which train I had to take the next day to get to the Landungsbrücken.
I also looked around for stores, as my daughter was expecting a souvenir.
Am Bahnhof habe ich mir dann einen kleinen Imbiss mitgenommen und außerdem habe ich mir in der Nähe noch ein Bier für den Abend besorgt.
Natürlich habe ich mich für ein Hamburger Bier entschieden.
Ratsherrn Pilsener
Ein echtes Hamburger-Original. Frisch, hopfig und schlank im Abgang. Egal, ob zum Feierabend, in der Stammkneipe oder beim schnieken Abendempfang
Das "Ratsherrn-Pilsener" hatte ich mir zum Feierabend verdient. Die Biere aus dem Norden unseres Landes sind ja generell etwas herber als die aus dem Süden. Das Ratsherrn ist aber so richtig deftig-herb. Selbst mir war es schon fast etwas zu herb.
At the station, I grabbed a small snack and also bought a beer for the evening nearby.
Naturally, I opted for a beer from Hamburg.
Ratsherrn Pilsener
A real Hamburg original. Fresh, hoppy and light on the finish. Whether after work, in the local pub or at a smart evening reception
I deserved the “Ratsherrn-Pilsener” at the end of the day. Beers from the north of our country are generally a little more bitter than those from the south. But the Ratsherrn is really hearty and tart. It was almost a little too bitter even for me.
It was nice to meet you in Hamburg! Unfortunately, we didn't have time to talk Despite that some people didn't come to the event, it wasn't possible to get to everyone!
I suppose we have to meet again at the next #BuzzParty and fix that!
Nice photos and that hotel looks really great for only 94€/night is a real bargain!

You manage to organize a good trip to be there in time, though it sounds a bit exhausting! I didn’t have the chance to taste that particular beer, but I noted for a next visit. Congratulations for being in that especial list of 26 badge owners, was great to put faces on user. 😄
