Sandbagging for the Future
Utah experienced a heavy snow load this Winter. Several people are in crisis mode expecting that the heavy snow will result in major flooding.
The house I am in is on the shores of might Neff Creek which drains the Mount Olympus Wilderness area. So, I guess it is an at risk house.
Anyway, my neighbor, who lives just down the hill, asked that I avail myself of free sand bags from the county sand bag program. I can use the sand bags to divert water from his property.
So, I headed to a place called "The Wasatch Salt Pile" at 3800 South Wasatch Boulevard. I filled ten sand bags. I might fill another ten bags next week.
The first picture shows a pile of sand framed by Grandeur Peak.
This second picture shows the world renown "Wasatch Salt Pile." I assume that this salt is used for salting the roads.
The final shot shows my trunk filled with 10 bags of sand ... which is the maximum I wanted to carry in the sedan.
I decided to post on We are Alive and Social as I was awarded a badge for being alive. Prepping to save my neighbor from the impending flood might be considered social by some.
Although surrounding my home with sand bags might be considered anti-social by others.
Well, I don't care what society thinks. I will post on Alive and Social anyway.
Five Years on the Blockchain
Finally the good news. HiveBuzz just awarded my account the 5 years on the blockchain badge. Only 444,000 accounts have achieved the same distinction. This screen shot shows the badge.
Happy Palm Sunday to those who abide by the Western Liturgical standard.

Want to have your post on the map too?
I don't see how, as long as the gunports aren't in active use when they approach.
BTW, did your neighbor offer to help you protect his property by hauling a few sandbags?
Thanks!
My neighbor is living in mobile home at the moment. He is out is seeing the world.
He is currently renting out the house to refugees from Afghanistan, but was in Salt Lake for a few days to check the property.
The sand bag filling station was not open when he was in town.
Regardless, since we are on a hill. The best way to protect his house is where I am staying; so I figured that I should design the sand bag placement.
PS: I don't expect to see the creek flowing until May.
