2025 made me a degree hotter; Memories of a B.Sc holder

Hey, great community members, I am glad we all survived 2025. It was indeed a great year with a lot of happenings, both good and bad, in between. I understand that life cannot be fair all the time, so I will only focus on the good things that happened in the last 12 months, and the memories of those events are what I want to share with you. The most significant thing that happened this year is that I started 2025 as an undergraduate but finished the year with a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the prestigious University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Just like Gen Zs would always say, “Congratulations to me, 2025 made me a degree hotter”.

My last days in the university were filled with so many activities that live rent-free in my head with sweet memories. While preparing for our final exams as undergraduates, the class executive of my series came up with a plan to wear different costumes on each day of the exams. That plan is a usual activity in Nigerian universities; thus, the plan was accepted by the student, and we all planned on how to make each exam day a memorable one. Oh gosh. My last days in the university were indeed fun-filled.

On the first day, all students came to the exam hall all dressed in corporate attire. It was so beautiful to see my coursemate dressed in office wear. We all had a good laugh because my department is known to always dress in casual wear.🤣🤣🤣

On the second day, all the student came to the exam hall dressed in their traditional/cultural attire. It was a beautiful sight to see the students represent their culture. Cultural diversity is beautiful.

On the third day, the student wore a different football club jersey. Some students wore jerseys of their favorite footballers and mentioned the names of footballers they know. I wore a Nigerian jersey.

On the fourth day, student wore “back to school” costumes, putting on different school uniforms and mimicking their teachers from secondary school

Finally, on the last day of exams, the uniform was a white shirt or polo on black or brown trousers/skirt. It was all fun, and we took turns to sign on each other's shirts after the exams.

The sweet memories from 2025 live rent-free in my head.
