Wednedday Walk. Spring Awakening

| Hi friends! Spring is rushing by so quickly now that it’s hard to take it all in at once. Until mid-April, it was still cold here — we had snow and frost — and then everything changed almost overnight. Just before Easter, we had a few warm days, and while we were celebrating, everything around us began to bloom: trees started to leaf out, and the birches released their catkins. Just a few days ago it was all only beginning, and now some trees are already past their peak. We can’t quite keep up with all the changes, but that doesn’t stop us from enjoying the beautiful awakening of nature. There’s always time for that. For me, it’s often during walks with my youngest son during his afternoon nap — he’s a year and a few months old, and while I call them walks, for him it’s more like rides (since he’s in the stroller 😄). This time, our older son came along too — riding his balance bike, which is basically a pedal-less bicycle that you move by pushing off with your feet. It’s something between a scooter and a regular bike. We rode down the street, enjoying the spring warmth, which in some spots already felt less like gentle warmth and more like real spring heat. | Привіт, друзі! Весна зараз проходить надто стрімко, щоб усе встигнути осягнути за один раз. До середини квітня в нас було холодно: падав сніг, тримався мороз. А потім — різко все змінилося. Перед Великоднем було кілька теплих днів, і поки ми святкували, одночасно все навколо зацвіло: дерева почали розпускати листя, берези випустили сережки. Ще кілька днів тому все тільки починало розквітати, а тепер деякі дерева вже навіть перецвітають. Ми не встигаємо вловити всі ці зміни, але це не заважає милуватися весняним пробудженням природи — воно справді красиве. І для цього завжди можна знайти час. Наприклад, для мене це прогулянки з наймолодшим сином під час його обіднього сну. Йому рік і кілька місяців і ми часто здійснюємо прогулянки (хоча для нього це поїздки - бо він у візочку 😄). Цього разу з нами ще їхав старший син — на біговелі, тобто на велосипеді без педалей, де потрібно відштовхуватись ногами. Це щось середнє між самокатом і велосипедом. Ми їхали по вулиці, насолоджувалися весняним теплом, яке подекуди вже нагадувало не просто тепло, а справжню весняну спеку. |

| And then — behind a fence, I noticed some beautiful pink flowers and took a photo of them. I didn’t know what kind of plant it was, so I used Google Lens when I got home. To my surprise, it suggested that it was an almond blossom. I had never seen an almond tree in bloom before. There was also a second suggestion — peach blossom — but I thought peach flowers were usually a paler pink, while these were a rich, deep pink. | І ось — за парканом я помітив гарні рожеві квіти й сфотографував їх. Я не знав, що це за рослина, тому вдома скористався Google Lens. І на диво, він запропонував, що це квітка мигдалю. Я ніколи раніше не бачив, як цвіте мигдаль. Хоча був і другий варіант — персик, але мені здалося, що квітка персика більш блідо-рожева, а ця — насичено темно-рожева. |

| Then we headed toward a small oak forest and walked inside because I saw how beautifully the anemones were blooming there. Entire clearings covered in flowers! They’ve probably been blooming since the beginning of April, or maybe even the end of March — they bloom for a long time, but still look absolutely beautiful. | Потім ми пішли в напрямку до невеличкого дубового лісу і зайшли всередину, бо я побачив, як там гарно цвітуть анемони. | We headed back when the sun started to shine more intensely, though even then it hadn’t managed to dry up the large puddle on the road. In the evening, the sun became gentler, and it was still warm at sunset — without the usual chill that often sets in later in the day. | Назад ми повернулися, коли сонце почало припікати сильніше.
