| People react to the heat in different ways. Young folks often dress right up to the edge of decency — shorts, tank tops, sometimes it feels like they’re just a step away from swimwear. The older generation, on the other hand, tends to do the opposite. The heat doesn’t seem to bother them as much: they wear buttoned-up shirts, jackets, long skirts. It might seem odd — but perhaps life has already taught them something: skin needs protection, especially as you age. UV rays are no joke. |
These lazy reflections drift through the mind of a passerby, walking down the sun-drenched street, drenched in sweat. It’s hard to feel motivated to do much in such weather. Maybe the best thing to do is simply find some shade and wait out the hottest hour of the day. Because sometimes, the wisest move is to stop — and observe.
|Люди реагують на спеку по-різному. Молодь — роздягнена майже до межі пристойності: шорти, майки, іноді здається — ще трохи, й буде купальний костюм. А от старші — навпаки. Їм спека ніби й не заважає: закриті сорочки, піджаки, довгі спідниці. Здається дивним — але, можливо, їхнє життя вже навчило: шкіру варто захищати, особливо в такому віці. Ультрафіолет не жартує. Такі ліниві думки виникають в голові стороннього спостерігача, який сам іде тією вулицею, заливаючись потом. Активно щось робити зовсім не хочеться. Хіба що знайти тінь і пересидіти в ній найспекотнішу годину доби. Бо іноді наймудріше — це просто зупинитися. І поспостерігати.|
