Coral-like lichen

| Hi friends! Some of you know (but not all, because I haven't posted anything in this community for a long time) that recently my wife and I were on vacation in the mountains and we climbed the polonyna (it's almost an alpine meadow, but in the Carpathians). When we went down from there, the path led us through a dark spruce forest. In one place near the path I saw an old spruce that had fallen down. Its dried twigs was covered with an amazing lichen. I like to photograph lichens at my home, not far from Lviv, but I have never seen such luxurious lichens! | Привіт, друзі! Дехто з вас знає (але не всі, бо я давно нічого не публікував у цій спільноті), що нещодавно я з дружиною відпочивав в горах і ми здійснили підйом на полонину (це майже альпійська лука, але в Карпатах). Коли ми спускалися звідти донизу, то стежка вела нас через темний ялиновий ліс. В одному місці біля стежки я побачив стару смереку, що впала додолу. Її висохле гілляччя вкривав дивовижний лишайник. Я люблю фотографувати лишайники у себе вдома, неподалік від Львова, але таких розкішних лишайників я ще не бачив! |

| I decided to photograph this lichen, which reminded me of underwater corals from the southern seas, for several reasons. Firstly, because it is beautiful, secondly - for memory, and thirdly - for further identification. At home, I used Google Lens and this very useful app determined that my photos most likely showed Pseudevernia furfuracea. | Я вирішив сфотографувати цей лишайник, який нагадав мені підводні корали з південних морів з декількох причин. По перше тому, що це красиво, по друге - на згадку, а по третє - для подальшої ідентифікації. Вдома я скористався Google Lens і цей дуже корисний додаток дав мені визначення, що на моїх фото найймовірніше зображена Псевдевернія мохната (якось воно недоладно звучить українською, мав би бути кращий відповідник 😠 (Pseudevernia furfuracea). |
