El Lienzo de Alexander Amarista: Luz y Espíritu en el Corazón de Oriente

Mi visita a la exposición de pintura en la Sala de Arte 7 de Diciembre siempre es un momento para encontrarme con el lado creativo de mi ciudad. Este lugar, que lleva el nombre de nuestra fundación, es un sitio donde se juntan talentos que van desde la fuerza de la escultura hasta los detalles de los trabajos en lienzo. Cada vez que entro, siento una gran admiración por el esfuerzo y la enorme creatividad que estos artistas logran poner en sus obras. El arte, cuando es verdadero, se convierte en un espejo del espíritu humano y eso es lo que siempre busco.

En esta ocasión, la sala tenía la exposición individual de un artista local, Alexander Amarista, cuyo talento es muy claro. Sus obras destacan por el uso de colores vivos que, de inmediato, nos llevan a los bellos y únicos paisajes del estado Monagas. Nuestro estado tiene una riqueza natural inmensa, muchos paisajes que merecen ser vistos y admirados. Este artista ha demostrado tener la sensibilidad necesaria para capturarlos con una habilidad especial a través de sus creaciones. No es solo un paisaje; es una invitación a sentir esa naturaleza.

Alexander Amatista, conocido en el mundo del arte como "el pintor del bambú, el cielo y los ríos", nos muestra una mezcla visual donde el paisaje se convierte en un símbolo de luz y de profunda conexión espiritual. Este artista no solo pinta lo que ve, sino que logra poner en sus cuadros un ambiente que obliga a la persona a meterse por completo en cada parte del lugar que pinta. Es como si el pincel hubiera atrapado no solo la imagen, sino también el aire, el silencio y la energía de esos sitios. Es un arte que se siente, no solo se mira.

My visit to the painting exhibition at the 7 de Diciembre Art Gallery is always a chance to connect with the creative side of my city. This place, named after our foundation, is a venue where talents ranging from the power of sculpture to the details of works on canvas come together. Every time I walk in, I feel great admiration for the effort and enormous creativity that these artists put into their work. When art is true, it becomes a mirror of the human spirit, and that is what I always seek. On this occasion, the gallery was hosting a solo exhibition by a local artist, Alexander Amatista, whose talent is very clear. His works stand out for their use of vivid colors that immediately transport us to the beautiful and unique landscapes of Monagas state. Our state has immense natural wealth, many landscapes that deserve to be seen and admired. This artist has demonstrated the sensitivity necessary to capture them with a special skill through his creations. It is not just a landscape; it is an invitation to feel that nature. Alexander Amatista, known in the art world as “the painter of bamboo, sky, and rivers,” shows us a visual mix where the landscape becomes a symbol of light and deep spiritual connection. This artist not only paints what he sees, but also manages to put an atmosphere in his paintings that compels the viewer to immerse themselves completely in every part of the place he paints. It is as if the brush had captured not only the image, but also the air, the silence, and the energy of those places. It is art that is felt, not just seen.

Fue en esta muestra, titulada "Maturín, corazón de Oriente" —un saludo a nuestra identidad regional—, donde pude pasar un buen rato mirando sus obras. Dediqué tiempo a apreciar cada detalle, cada rayo de luz que jugaba entre las hojas. El realismo que logra con sus pinceladas es simplemente increíble y me llenó de un gran placer al verlo. Había un cuadro de un amanecer sobre el río, con una neblina muy suave, que parecía mojado. Me quedé mirándolo y me hizo recordar las mañanas que pasaba de niña en el campo. Ese es el poder de su arte: te lleva a tus propios recuerdos.

Debo decir que me considero una persona bastante crítica con el arte, y lo digo sin miedo. He visitado muchas galerías a lo largo de los años y, honestamente, muchas obras no me llaman la atención; simplemente, no logro entender el mensaje o lo que el artista quiere decir. A veces siento que el arte es muy difícil o que solo busca ser diferente, sin un sentimiento detrás.

Sin embargo, esta vez la experiencia fue totalmente distinta. Me sentí conectada con cada pieza de Amatista. Me gusta mucho pintar paisajes, sobre todo cuando el artista consigue que su pintura sea tan real que parezca que uno puede sentir el rocío de la mañana o el calor del sol en las hojas. Sus bambúes, por ejemplo, casi se podían tocar; parecían sonar con el viento. Eso es para mí el arte bien hecho: el que te hace sentir cosas con los sentidos.

It was at this exhibition, entitled “Maturín, Heart of the East”—a tribute to our regional identity—that I was able to spend some time looking at his works. I took the time to appreciate every detail, every ray of light playing among the leaves. The realism he achieves with his brushstrokes is simply incredible, and it filled me with great pleasure to see it. There was a painting of a sunrise over the river, with a very soft mist that looked wet. I stared at it, and it reminded me of the mornings I spent as a child in the countryside. That is the power of his art: it takes you back to your own memories.

I must say that I consider myself a fairly critical person when it comes to art, and I say this without fear. I have visited many galleries over the years and, honestly, many works do not appeal to me; I simply cannot understand the message or what the artist is trying to say. Sometimes I feel that art is very difficult or that it only seeks to be different, without any feeling behind it.

However, this time the experience was totally different. I felt connected to each of Amatista's pieces. I really like painting landscapes, especially when the artist manages to make their painting so real that it feels like you can feel the morning dew or the warmth of the sun on the leaves. Her bamboo, for example, you could almost touch; it seemed to rustle in the wind. That's what good art is to me: art that makes you feel things with your senses.

Más allá de los paisajes de bambú y río, el artista presentó otra serie que me gustó mucho: una colección de caballos separados en pedazos. Eran cuadros hechos con diferentes partes que, al unirse, formaban una única y gran imagen de un caballo. El efecto visual era inmediato: cuadros grandes, con colores atrevidos y, sobre todo, muy llamativos. Esta unión de técnica, color y el tamaño de las piezas es, justo, el tipo de arte que más me gusta y me anima.

Ver esos caballos me hizo pensar en la fuerza y la libertad. No eran solo cuadros; eran una muestra de energía. La obra de Alexander Amatista en esta exposición no solo cumplió mis expectativas, sino que las superó por mucho, dejando una marca luminosa y llena de vida de Monagas en mi memoria. Salí de la sala sintiéndome más tranquila y con una nueva valoración por el talento que tenemos en nuestra tierra.

Beyond the bamboo and river landscapes, the artist presented another series that I really liked: a collection of horses separated into pieces. They were paintings made with different parts that, when put together, formed a single large image of a horse. The visual effect was immediate: large paintings with bold colors and, above all, very striking. This combination of technique, color, and size is exactly the type of art that I like best and that inspires me.

Seeing those horses made me think of strength and freedom. They weren't just paintings; they were a display of energy. Alexander Amatista's work in this exhibition not only met my expectations but far exceeded them, leaving a bright and lively impression of Monagas in my memory. I left the room feeling calmer and with a new appreciation for the talent we have in our land.
