Jomtien Beach at Night

Avisala!
It's one of those places that I wished I could have stayed longer and explored more. After staying for one night in Bangkok, we went to Pattaya to visit Nong Nooch Botanical Gardens and interact with the elephants at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. As our time in Pattaya is limited, we only have those two major activities on our itinerary. We stayed along Jomtien Road for just one night, and we only had that night to explore the area.
After settling at our hotel, we decided to look for something to eat. However, the area where we stayed has fewer restaurants. It's more of massage parlors, bars, and weed dispensaries. I have always wanted to try weed at least once, and it could have been an opportunity since weed is now legal in Thailand, but for some reason, we were not able to try it. Even if the streets were lined with stalls and smoking areas, we didn't bother trying. I guess who you're with really matters.
As we were looking for food, we ended up in Jomtien Beach. There were only a few people at the beach since it was on a Tuesday night. I have to say that in terms of sand quality, the beaches here in the Philippines are unmatched. However, what they have are infrastructures that are catered to tourists which is lacking here. We just walked along the beach until we got tired and hungry that we should eat.
I only have five photos that night. We ended up ordering some bugs to eat, but my friends didn't even bother to eat after they saw up close the grasshoppers and crickets.
I'll probably be back someday to explore more.

Looks like a quiet and lovely place ✨
It was very different from across the street where the bars are located.
Yes i can understand it because the lights .
I now proved that beach at night were way more relaxing, huhu. I want a night over on a beach!!
It's way more senti than usual. Try Boracay at night and you'll see a very big contrast.
A very expressive contrast of dark blue and yellow colors!
Indeed! I find it way more melancholic now that you mentioned it.
Thanks for stopping by!
Looks like a nice beach to spend an evening with friends. I can't say I'm big on the eating bugs with intent, I do see them in lollypops in the rockies tho.
I'm not a fan either! It's an acquired taste. It's fun to try it at least once though. 😆
Well I can agree with the trying it once thing, now you can say you were bold enough to do it willingly. I'm sure I have eaten my fair share of bugs accidently...I'll call it good and take your word for it. 😆
The crickets tasted good, but I can't say the same for the grasshoppers. 😂
Lol. I tried earthworms as a kid. Tasted earthy and made $5.
Really? Raw earthworms? Or cooked? I tried mealworms, but it was fried. It tasted good.
no just picked it out of the ground in a mud puddle and ate it 6 yr old with a dare special cook. The texture was gross. Not like gummy worms at all. Nah-ha. It's not that bad tho, taste like extra earthy strong catfish. Like eating a mouth full of dirt. Just the texture is gross.
That's 🤢! 😆 I eat almost any type of meat, but it wouldn't dare if it's not cooked. I remember my brother ate a toad with his friend when we were young. That toad is poisonous, but they barbecued it. Good thing they didn't have problems after.
The things we did when we were younger. 😂
lol a random toad! hahaha. We do have frog legs, taste like chicken but a poisonous toad, lucky they are ok. Probably because they cooked it.
I have eaten a lot of exotic meat, but I haven't tried frogs yet. They're a delicacy in some parts of the Philippines, but for some reason I haven't visited a province that offers frog meat dishes. I'll include this in my list this year. 😆
Taste like chicken, don't fear the frogs! Just don't go pick them out of the pond yourself🤣
We eat everything here, well maybe not cats and dogs but everything else is fair game. I'll try most things once.
I've eaten a cat and a dog! 😂 In the province, everything's indeed a fair game. The grossest meat I've tried is a bat. Texture's like sand and it smelled like urine. Never again. Seems COVID indeed came from bats. Felt like I already had an immunity as I haven't contracted COVID.
Ewww, I'm not bold enough to try bat, sounds gross. Cat and dog, prefer no too but if I was starving and had no other choice to survive...I might go there.

If I was with you, I would definitely let you try it with me. Haha.
I have been to Jomtien, but never got to explore the beach side. Seems like a quiet place compared to the red district area there in Jomtien where there were lots of ladyboys.
let go back someday.
It's really up to who you're with. I know we'll definitely try if we were together that time. Let's go back!
We were on the wrong side of Jomtien. My expectations were so high about parties and stuff, but when we got there, it was so solemn. HAHAHA
I've heard mixed things about the sand quality on various beaches, but it's all about the experience, isn't it? Despite that, it looks like the beach still had its own charm. Plus, trying local delicacies like bugs is super brave! What did they taste like?
It's true that it's all about the experience. The people you're with, the weather, the locals, and all other factors contribute to the overall experience. I also agree that the beach has its own charm. It's just that maybe I had high expectations when it came to beaches, especially since I am from the Philippines.
As for the local delicacies, they don't taste bad. It's just that unusual to eat bugs. I had fun eating while my friends were cringing as I munch on the crickets. 😀
I have never tasted cricket in my life 😂... Have seen where somebody consumed the raw ones.
