PhotoFeed Contest - Street Photography Round 129 ~ Coming Home from Fishing
Hello Hivers...
This post is my entry for the Street Photography Contest hosted by @photofeed. If you'd like to enter, please read and follow the rules
A light drizzle accompanied the steps of three villagers crossing a suspension bridge in a village in Tangse, Pidie Regency, Aceh. With sincere smiles, they carried simple supplies from their activities on the river. In the hands of one of the women was a traditional net, a sign that they had just finished fishing. This scene reminded us of village life, full of simplicity and togetherness.
The young child walking in front looks happy, holding a floral umbrella to protect himself from the rain. Under the umbrella, he wears a red and black soccer jersey, which stands out against the greenery of the landscape. Two adult women behind him walk leisurely, laughing, displaying warmth and joy despite being drenched by the rain. This atmosphere reflects the harmonious and colorful life of the rural community, despite its limitations.
The iron bridge they cross bears silent witness to the villagers' daily journey. From this bridge, they cross the river that provides their livelihood, fishing for their families. In its simplicity, there are the values of togetherness and hard work that characterize Tangse village life. This photograph is not just a portrait, but a story about the harmony between people, nature, and traditions that continues to live on today.
