Cleaning the Dust of Cooler

Hello everyone! Today I'm going to share some pictures and a little story of cleaning my laptop cooler recently. It's more of a rant as I didn't plan it. Also, @qurator is hosting a Photo Quest and the theme for this week is 'Dust'. I thought I might as well join this contest while I'm at it.

As I was going to bed around 2.00 am that day, I thought I would do a teeny bit of editing of a video for my channel. I have already posted it now but at the time, I was still working on it. So as I was using my mouse and clicking around, I accidently knocked down a glass of water I kept on the table. It got everywhere including on my clothes while my laptop was still on with me editing the video.

I immediately grabbed my towel for myself and another cloth to soak in all the water on my table so it doesn't get into my laptop area. It still got to my cooler and an encyclopedia I kept as base to raise my laptop. So I turned everything off and starting removing everything from the table. I decided to take apart the cooler to clean it at once instead of trying to dry and soak in the water that got on it.

In the darkness, it was hard to see much in the living room but I somehow managed to get a screwdriver to open it up. I didn't turn the lights on because my pet fish was sleeping and I didn't want to disturb him. I tip-toed back to my room and opened it up in no time.

I was quite stunned to see the amount of dust collected over time on it. It was so dusty I thought I might get covid 20 or something as it seemed like it was going to go into my lungs. I just reduced my fan speed and got to cleaning. By the way there is a heart I drew long ago on it in the center area. I used a gold nail polish to paint that. It is right at the center of the cooler fan.

The black patches are the parts where I cleaned with a wet tissue. I didn't have any motivation to use a wash cloth at this odd hour. It was past 3.00am and I was so exhausted. However I was determined to finish cleaning it. After a bunch of wet tissues, I was done cleaning it all at half past 4 or so. The following day was a blast, except the blast was happening in my head with a lingering headache due to my severe sleep deprivation.

Here's a little screenshot of the timing. I really didn't want to clean at that moment but I'm so glad I did it. Chances are I would have procrastinated even longer if the universe didn't force me to get on with it. Also, yes it is 1.00 am as I'm typing this now. It is quite difficult for me to fall asleep early these days due to the hot weather unless I tire myself during the day.

This is after a week and it looks so much better. It's also the first time I'm using this cloth as I picked it in a hurry due to not being able to have the energy to reach the entire basket of batik fabrics I have in my room. I just quickly grabbed the nearest batik. I swear I wouldn't even have posted these dusty pictures if it wasn't for this encouraging contest which is why I barely have taken two pictures as I didn't know that a photo quest was in order.
