Week #187/ Remembering my wedding and the delicious gift from my cousins.

Hello, it's the weekend and the body asks for rest, walks and good memories. Today I'm going to talk about one in particular. The challenge launched by the community of weekend experiences.

I'm going to talk about my wedding with @juliom that happened 15 years ago and was celebrated on a hot Saturday in August. A special weekend, with a lot of nerves, but it is the most emotional weekend I remember in my life. From early in the morning making preparations for the toast, cars, family, friends.
That day I was given a special gift. I love sweets and we had ordered a traditional and very common cake and I tell you that my cousins showed up with a wonderful cake. It had several plants and bride and groom couples. It was pink and inside it had chocolate, cappuccino and coconut. A huge cake that really surprised me. I still can't stop thanking my cousins for such a beautiful and delicious gift.

I tell you that at two o'clock in the afternoon I started to feel like a princess because a professional stylist prepared me. I asked her for a simple, almost natural makeup. When she finished I almost messed it up because I wanted to cry with emotion. The outfit was perfect, just as I had dreamed it. I was in a closed room and when I came out I heard a lot of applause. It was an immense joy. My mother could not hold back her tears.

I was finally coming out of my room dressed in white. Only one moment overshadowed that joy, my father was no longer there to see me as he wanted. So I was accompanied by his siblings. I had to get over this moment. My father was in my heart the whole time. There was very beautiful music. Several singers Eros Ramazotis, Rocio Durcal, Rudy La Escala with songs allegorical to weddings.

In the other room was the groom to whom people made tremendous jokes because it is not usual to see a man dressed up at two o'clock in the afternoon in Cuba. He was almost suffocating from the heat in those clothes. But he looked like a gentleman.
We both met at the photo studio and he had to overcome the surprise, he said he found me beautiful. There several people took care of the lights, the positions and soon the pleasant afternoon of studio photos was over.

The most exciting part would be the ceremony at the Wedding Palace. In front of the family and before God we promised to love each other and take care of each other always. There were a lot of people. The cake was huge and delicious. The family accompanied me and helped me a lot. We had many other photos taken at our wedding. It was an unforgettable day.

Later a car would pick us up to take us on a trip to the honeymoon. A very nice place, between mountains and rivers in the municipality of La Palma, La Cueva de los Portales, beautiful place of the Pinar del Pinar geography. We were there for a week, forgotten of the world, happy and in love.

Although I tell you dear friends that the intense life would come later. Until then I was a princess but that day I became a queen. A queen responsible for a family with several obligations and with a very beautiful love. Then our son came to fulfill our happiness.

These 15 years have been full of challenges, extraordinary moments, sad and happy moments. My husband has been fundamental in each of these moments. The family we have created is a sign of constancy, love, respect and courage. I am very grateful to life for our choice and I hope we will be together until we are very old and can hug our great-grandchildren. Thank you for sharing our experience.
