A walk that reminded me of my 15 years

When I turned 15 years old, all the girls who could took pictures in hotels and tourist institutions, then they had big parties, with many guests and a rich buffet. In my case I always thought of something simple, my dad was a farmer and I didn't want him to spend money on an ephemeral pleasure. So I asked him for some simple photos, in my own village, some clothes and to eat together, my parents and I at home. That modest celebration made me very happy. Time has passed, I will show you some pictures, and you will tell me if it was worth it.

My cousins did take pictures at Aguas claras, a beautiful place on the outskirts of the city of Pinar del Río. I had never entered this beautiful place that has beautiful rooms, an artificial lake and other wonderful attractions. This weekend, 25 years after my 15th birthday, I am going for the first time to visit some of the attractions of the place. I had a lot to see, considering that I only visited there for 2 hours, with my husband and son, to a cultural activity held at their Ranchón.

I remembered the pictures of my cousins and ran to a staircase with several steps where they took their portraits, put my child and took pictures of him. Then I saw a beautiful castle where the girls were posing like princesses. I saw it small, in the photos it looked huge. In this castle there were photos of various positions. Later several photos at the ranchon where the girls had their 15th birthday parties and waltzed. I missed the bridge, the pool and the rooms. I didn't really go to that part of the beautiful village.

The reason for my visit of course was not to remember my 15th birthday, although it really made me think about it. I came this weekend to enjoy a picnic with my son and my husband and then after lunch we participated in the most beautiful peasant music festival that is being held in our province of Pinar del Rio. Poets and singers in beautiful canturia delighted us with their improvised tenths, forced feet, controversies and songs. There was Mexican music, beautiful rancheras to sing along with the interpreters. Some gastronomic offers could be enjoyed and the company of many friends.

I recently told you that I went to the capital of the country, Havana, to a cultural event called Oralitura Habana, because this cultural activity was attended by three talented young people I met there and I was happy to meet them, share a little while and then enjoy the art they have to improvise tenths. It was a very nice trip. I remembered my first youth, my cousins and the photos of my 15th birthday.
