The most precious resource

Good morning, #Monomad friends

Welcome to my #Monomad Challenge

This small set of photos that I revisited today has made me think about an increasingly urgent issue. One of humanity's greatest gifts, water. Many of us only really value tap water in two situations: the first is the most frequent, having to do with a break in a region's normal supply, and the second: a drought caused by years of decreased rainfall. In Portugal, from year to year, we have seen campaigns for the population to save this crucial commodity, but rarely do we lose access to this precious resource for longer than a few hours. I remember, when I was a kid, and during the summer vacations, in the Beira Baixa region of Portugal, it was very common for there to be a period (usually in the afternoon) when the supply was cut off in order to prevent misuse, and for the fire trucks to be refueled (it has always been a region heavily affected by wild fires) in order to safeguard the minimum reserve levels in the reservoirs... I don't think we're that far away from the years when this reality can be more than a fear, and become a reality that is more usual than just restricted to the summer months. What other commodities do you think we take for 'granted'?
