The dawn of the new day

Welcome to my first post in the community #lovetheclouds 🌤

When I saw the name of the community, I had to subscribe, obviously. Even today, I remember the car journeys I used to take with my parents more than 40 years ago... and how much fun I used to have lying on my side in the back seat of the car. That way, I could look through the glass and observe the intoxicating and beautiful dance of the voluptuous or simple shapes of the elegant cloud formations... If they wanted to "kill me with boredom", it would be enough for it to be a beautiful summer's day to have to come up with some other game, like the initials of the letters on the license plates of the cars that passed us by.

Early one morning, as I was staying overnight in a town in the Serra da Estrela region, Valezim, which I've mentioned here, I suddenly woke up, full of energy.... A lot of it was because I went to bed very early, as I took advantage of those days to detox from television and the internet!

It was just after 5 a.m., and on that day at the beginning of December, I decided to drive to Penhas Douradas (a place I hadn't known about until now). I arrived just as the night was settling in, and managed to park my car in a hamlet next to an apparently abandoned house, but without any major signs of disrepair. Little did I expect that, when the first rays of sunlight broke through the sky, a whole idyllic scene would appear before me!

Being surrounded by huge boulders, I took advantage of the fact that I had good grip sneakers to climb up to one right next to the villa, where I waited inside my car, lying down (this time in the fully reclined driver's seat) for daybreak!

The colors I could see are beyond description... the morning mist gently dissipated, while the darkness that covered the whole valley was replaced by sweet light. The shades of red, orange and yellow were too fantastic and too mysterious... Contributing to this was the slow dance of the clouds on the horizon.

Little by little, a whole scenario came into view before me, and I, from the top of a large cliff, watched alone and in perfect communion with the nature that was gradually awakening!

I hope you enjoyed my post. First of all, I'd like to apologize for the quality of the photos not being as good as I'd like them to be. I hope to be able to find quality material to share here more often!

Panorama, when I got out of the car, next to the vacant house I mentioned

The next few photos are all very short, and it clearly seems that the dance of light and clouds must be one of the most fantastic, and free, spectacles we can witness

You can see my car below. I was about 5 to 6 meters high, on top of a rock

The passing of the clouds was so mystical... I was lucky to have witnessed this moment

Can you see the valley still covered in the morning mist?

At this point it was already possible to glimpse the settlement at the bottom of the valley

Despite the power lines in the photo, this is for me one of my favorites of this extra special morning

Is this house for sale? If I were a millionaire, I'd try to buy it!

Worth it. The time that you spend just to capture the scenery, it was perfect. Great job to you. 😊 @xrayman

Yes, in the end it truly compensates it... And believe me that the photos aren't as cool as the real thing! Thank you for your comment and appreciation @fixyetbroken !

Yeah me tooo, though I'd still be doing wayyyyy more things than just sunrises and sunsets- well no that's not entirely true.

I would still do virtually zero sunrises- UNLESS it's some sort of adventure somewhere that you can't miss it..

AND I would do MORE sunsets for sure- especially if they were in different parts of the world- ofcourse, that when I'm a millionaire...🤣

Thank you so much for your comment. But you can trust me, that the "real" colors were way far more stunning then the photograph results :)
