Happy Easter - Memories from good times

Happy Easter - Memories from good times.jpg

The celebration of Easter is an ancient tradition. All too often, we allow it to be just a holiday, which is often associated with an extended family gathering and traditional dishes (which, in Portugal's case, include lamb or goat), and we forget its true meaning. This celebration, adopted by the Catholic Church as the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ, in which He conquers Death and ascends to heaven, freeing all who live.
Unfortunately, for a while now, I've been drifting away from religion and the more traditional Catholic celebrations.

When I read @sjarvie5's post, I thought I couldn't let this day pass without marking it, which turns out to be the most important of the whole year (for believers).

I'm sharing with you some photos I took on my last pilgrimage to Taizé last summer.
From the meeting with our neighbors, to the moments spent in dynamic silence and communion, to the moments of prayer, everything is, in my opinion, the true meaning of community and religious celebration. There's no point in celebrating a religious festival if it's not about cultivating peace and extending the spirit of communion and sharing.

And you, are you believers, or on the other hand, have you already believed and are now in a "colder" phase of your relationship with God? Do you not believe in a Divine entity at all?

Despite my distance from God, I always want to revisit him and feel his presence. I still can't do it on a daily basis, but there are places, which don't necessarily have to be places of worship, where I feel connected to something higher, or which give me a sense of connection with nature.
I believe in a unifying God, not a God who seeks "good" only for those who worship and venerate him. But man is called upon to bear his share of responsibility.
For example, when it comes to respect for others, if we take this teaching into account, how many wars and misunderstandings could be avoided.

How did you experience Easter?

Leave your comments, I'll reply and read them all.

Thank you for your time 🐰

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and religion and fellowship. I also believe a unify God, one that wants us to love and be with one another. That pilgrimage looks nice. I went to church this morning and listened to people speak and sing of Christ, talked and hugged by friends, this afternoon I am thinking about and looking at documents of my ancestors and this evening I will go and have a Easter dinner with close family friends. I am happy that it has been able to be such a peaceful, love and Christ filled day.
