CCC's Street Art Contest # 314 "Green Eyes" - Curiouser - Alcântara, Portugal

Good afternoon, friends!

Welcome to another post in the Street Art community!

Here is another contribution to this street art community, which pays close attention to details and authentic works—many of which are one-of-a-kind and of undeniable value. They make life less boring for those who pass by them, raising awareness and bringing attention to topics that are no longer so hyped—due to trends—which, unfortunately, dictate what should be focused on in every aspect.

The theme of women is central. There is no community in which women cannot play a fundamental role. Don’t get me wrong—the role of men is equally important. One should not exclude the other. The two are complementary, and that is the true beauty of life.

The importance of one thing doesn’t necessarily mean everything else is devalued. Much more often than not, the whole is stronger and more important than the parts. The sum makes the strength and grows in importance.

That’s how I’ve always seen life. When I was a kid, many of my little school friends rooted for their soccer team to win, but for the others to lose. Regardless of whether they were rivals of the club they favored.

For me, the mere fact that other clubs are stronger ends up presenting a greater challenge to everyone else—including the club I’m passionate about. With dedication, effort, and commitment, that club can go on to surpass the others. That’s the true magic of soccer—or any other sport. Individual growth, effort, dedication, and above all… sportsmanship.

I’m talking about sports, but of course this applies to other things in life as well. Just because we don’t all like the same “color” or the same “music” doesn’t mean we should only listen to a certain kind of music or wear a shirt of a certain color. Quite the contrary. Everything should be accepted, as long as it doesn’t conflict with others’ freedom of choice, and as long as it doesn’t incite or promote hatred and violence.

In a world marked by increasing contrast, intolerance, and isolation, we must move in the exact opposite direction.

Continuing the theme I’ve been exploring for the past few weeks—and as part of the large mural I’ve already shared here in other posts within this same community—I’d like to share another fantastic piece of work with you.

Previous posts:

This time, the artist Curiouser is someone who works with graffiti, drawing on impressionism and realism as her true passions. In this piece, the Italian artist—who is based in London—depicts a woman who allows herself to be enveloped by natural elements: fauna and flora. She looks up with a hopeful gaze toward tomorrow, never giving up on her journey.

I hope you enjoyed this fantastic piece.

Have a great week, everyone!
