CCC's Street Art Contest # 270 "Salve o Planeta" - Artic Art, Torres Vedras, Portugal [Eng-Pt]

Welcome to another weekly post in this community! How was your weekend? Was it good? Mine was excellent. I went for a walk in Torres Vedras, and as it is about 50 km away, and I had to get there and back quickly, I decided to go by car.
I had arranged to meet a long-time friend, who works in Torres Vedras, for coffee, and he had some time around 12:30 p.m. to spend with me.
Anyone who knows me knows that I wouldn't go to Torres Vedras, especially on the weekend, without taking the opportunity to explore the area a little.
I didn't have much time, it's true, I arrived in the center of Torres at almost 9 a.m.
As I walked through the oldest streets of the city, I came to a huge, central avenue with a park. The Parque Verde da Várzea was right there. I just had to park the car, and although I had to pay for parking, the fee was quite symbolic. Most likely to prevent overcrowding of the most desirable parking spaces.
The park is very nice, I discovered many wide, green paths, and when I reached the southern part of the park, by the wall of the sports center, I came across some educational graffiti. The message is very clear. But it seems that every day, it becomes more and more important to reinforce it. My generation grew up with the beginning of recycling. I can even say that my municipality was one of the first to implement a weekly collection system for recyclable waste bags. If I remember correctly, collection was on Tuesdays. And we had to buy, at a symbolic price, a transparent blue bag, which was more easily identified by the collectors. I think it was about 10 cents, but I can't swear to it.
I notice that nowadays, younger people are not as aware as my generation was and continues to be. There is no real concern about reducing waste, let alone recycling or reusing. It's really all about consume and move on!
I see that the consumption of packaged products and foodstuffs is becoming increasingly significant. And there is no great concern on the part of governments to try to legislate against it. Will things be different for the next generation? It shocks me to see trash on the ground these days. We have all the conditions in place to avoid this. And even less so on the beach...
Here I share the video that the artist posted on Facebook at the time. In it, it is clear that there was a rope being “held” by the boy's hand.

Bem vindos para mais uma publicação semanal nesta comunidade! Como é que foi o vosso fim de semana? Foi bom? O meu foi excelente. Fui passear até Torres Vedras, e como fica a cerca de 50 km de distância, e tinha que ir e regressar rapidamente, decidi ir de carro.
Tinha combinado um café com um amigo de longa data, que trabalha em Torres Vedras, e que tinha um tempinho por volta das 12h30 para estar comigo.
Quem já me conhece, sabe que eu não iria a Torres Vedras, ainda para mais durante o fim de semana, e não aproveita-se para descobrir um pouco daquela localidade.
Não tinha muito tempo, é um facto, cheguei ao centro de Torres, já eram quase as 9am.
Ao passar pelas ruas mais antigas da cidade, fui dar a uma avenida enorme, central, com parque. O Parque Verde da Várzea, estava ali mesmo. Só tive que estacionar o carro, e apesar de ter que pagar parquímetro, o valor era bastante simbólico. Mais provavelmente para evitar que haja uma sobrelotação dos lugares de estacionamento mais desejados.
O Parque é muito giro, consegui descobrir muitos caminhos, largos e bem verdejantes, e chegando à parte sul do mesmo, já no muro do Polidesportivo, dei de caras com um graffiti educativo. A mensagem é muito clara. Mas parece que de dia para dia, é cada vez mais importante a reforçar. A minha geração cresceu com o inicio da reciclagem. Posso até dizer que o meu concelho foi dos primeiros a implementar um sistema de recolha de sacos com lixo reciclável, de forma semanal. Se bem me lembro, era nas terças feiras que faziam a recolha. E tínhamos que comprar, a um preço simbólico, um saco transparente de tonalidade azul, que era mais facilmente identificado pelos recolectores. Penso que eram cerca de 10 cêntimos, mas não posso jurar.
Reparo que hoje em dia, as pessoas mais novas não estão tão sensibilizadas como a minha geração esteve e continuar a estar. Não há uma verdadeira preocupação em reduzir o lixo, e muito menos reciclar ou reutilizar. É mesmo a mote de consumir e seguir!
Vejo que cada vez o consumo de produtos e bens alimentares embalados é bastante significativo. E não há uma grande preocupação dos governos em tentar fazer legislação para o combater. Será que na próxima geração as coisas serão diferentes. Choca-me ver lixo no chão, nos dias de hoje. Temos as condições todas para não o fazer. E muito menos na praia...
Partilho aqui o video que o artista publicou na altura no Facebook. Nele é evidente que existia uma corda que estava a ser "segura" pela mão do rapaz.
