CCC's Street Art Contest # 258 - "Ophelia" - Tamara Alves - Amadora, Portugal [Eng-Pt]
Good afternoon, friends!
Welcome to another post in the Street Art community!
Today I want to share with you another work by an artist I've told you about before (link).
I'm talking about Tamara Alves. The Portuguese artist, born in 1983, is inspired by urban art itself. Buildings, urbanity and the people who live in cities are the source of her inspiration. The constant dialog she establishes between the feminine element, represented by the woman, and Nature, is one of the constant and quite frequent elements of her work. The multidisciplinary approach in which she tackles this theme is not limited to street art, but also to illustration and painting. She has had a number of exhibitions with her numerous works.
The celebrations of the Municipality of Amadora took place in 2019, and the artist presented a gift to the municipality and the other residents of Rua Pio XII.
In the words that the artist shares on her social network Facebook, she tells us a little about her work:
I was inspired by a modern Ophelia by Shakespeare, not in an ephemeral and tragic way, but in a perpetual, strong and passionate way.
It's a dense but powerful theme, it's not easy to accept our madness and fragility, but it makes us stronger. Tragic endings teach us the most.
As Ophelia says, “We know what we are... but not what we can become.”

Boa tarde, amigos!

Beautiful mural, this look is very expressive and the background with these flowers is also magnificent. A mural that makes you stop to admire it. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.
Enjoy your day
And I passed by it, almost in a chance a couple of days before when I was driving by. The very same week, a couple of days after, I had to plan to stop the car near by, and get outside to capture it for my collection!
Have a great week, Heroldius!
