CCC's Street Art Contest #253 "S&D - European Pillar of Social Rights" - Tamara Alves - Porto, Portugal [Eng-Pt]
Welcome to another post in the Street Art community!
Good afternoon, friends of street art!
Today I want to share with you another piece of work that is located in one of the arteries of Portugal's second largest city. I'm talking about Porto, a city full of history and with a great tradition of welcoming visitors. Many of you have told me that you'd like to visit this city one day, just like @littlebee4, but some of you already know it well (right, @heroldius?).
I'm going to unveil another work located on Rua de Fernandes Tomás, which is very close to Rua do Bonjardim, where I presented the work of the artist Costah the previous week (link).
Tamara Alves was born in 1983 and is a Portuguese artist who graduated in Arts and took a Master's degree in Contemporary Artistic Practices at the University of Fine Arts, University of Porto. She currently lives in Lisbon, and her particular interest has always focused on the aesthetics of the street, and its involvement and urban context. She has always enjoyed showing her work and exhibiting it not in galleries, but on the streets. This is not her only activity.
One of the main ways he communicates his concerns is through his art. Through it he is able to express his concerns. Her works become true odes to symbolism, invoking in us, mere spectators, more than just a passive posture, but also making us attentive to the issues she considers most important.
In her work, she often uses the human figure in conjunction with some animals. The main figure at the center of her work is the woman, as the seat of all her inspiration and the source of life.
About this work, the artist herself shared these words on her Facebook post:
"WE BLOOM AS ONE
I was invited to create a mural whose theme was the European Pillar of Social Rights for the Oporto European Summit.
I feel privileged to be able to leave a little bit of myself in the city of Porto, where I lived for a few years and in which I always feel at home.
I wanted to evoke unity, freedom and fraternity. We are one, like a twine or a garland, intertwined in a hug, a support, offering a flower ... reaching a hand.
Flowers simbolize the inner evolution, the long path that the human being goes through. This evolution goes side by side with taking care of this flower, taking care of each other, taking care of ourselves. We are one."
I hope you enjoyed my sharing of this week's CCC Street Art Contest #253
Cheers🍀
Queria transmitir a união, a liberdade e a fraternidade.

Hi @xrayman, happy Sunday. Enjoying this exquisite work of urban art that you share with us, of this famous representative of the art of your country. It is a mural that transmits me a great sensitivity and with it is an invitation to introspective reflexivity, as congeners who live and converge daily. We are hybridism and mixture, there emerges the essence that nourishes and unites us in diversity. It is an invitation to understand the balance that must be conquered between ipseity and otherness. It is a work full of details very well cared for by the author, among them the colors that transmit energies, but also emotions and sensations. It is to represent our human nature intertwined and linked with the social. Thank you for sharing it and allowing me to travel to your country through this exquisite and memorable art. Health and wellness, happy week !HUG
