I started to sleep in a tent instead of the community cave (2023.05.06)
Yesterday (on 2023.05.05) around midnight I started to sleep in a tent. The community cave is under development. The community is fixing the holes in the cave, whitewashing the cave, etc. And there will be around 30 people in/around the community cave in the winter. They will make parties in the nights in the community cave. So the community cave is not even good to live in in long term anyway.
They offered a tent, so the tent is not mine. I am just/only using it. Probably this is the first time, when I slept in a tent. I currently do not remember whether I slept in a tent so far or not. The tent is in the rocky semi-desert. A few minutes of walk from the community cave.
There are two mattresses in the tent. It is very comfortable to sleep in this tent.
This tent is a little bit damaged. Looks like someone cut it with something. Or teared it with hands. But other than this, this tent is really a comfortable place to sleep.
I slept in a pullover, in a coat with two thin blankets. Of course I brought a pillow too into the tent.
The temperature was around 15 °C in the night, and 17 °C in the morning.
I felt that the temperature is a little bit cold in the morning, but I slept well.
By the way, today I visited El Médáno for the first time.
Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
That tent looks comfortable, if you've never slept in a tent before, I bet it was quite the experience. It's almost like sleeping outside!
Yes. It is somewhat similar to sleeping outside. I already slept outside, but as I currently remember, I have not slept in a tent until the recent past. I slept two nights in it so far. The mattress in it is very comfortable.
I love sleeping in a tent! Hope that is a great experience for you!
Yes. It is very good. I used two blankets to sleep. The night temperatures around 15 °C feels cold after the daylight temperatures of around 30 °C. At least currently. Probably I will get used to it over time.

I've always slept well in a tent as long as it's not too hot. It sounds like life is good there!
Yes. It is. At first sleeping in the tent in the night felt cold, but I used to it. So I also sleep well in the tent. The tent felt a little bit hot today morning around 10:00. The nights are rather colder on Tenerife. At least they were in the previous few weeks. The temperatures in general will be hotter in the next few months. I heard that the hottest month on Tenerife is August. The people say that the daylight temperature can go up to 40-50 °C.
