I climbed Montaña Roja for the first time (2023.06.02)

Today was a good (mostly sunny with around 24 °C temperature) day, and I decided to walk a little farther than before. Actually I went so far that I climbed a small (400 meters high) mountain. This is my first mountain climbing on Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

The ocean in the distance, while climbing.

The other direction.

Climbing higher.

There is a "Risk of falling from a height" sign near the top.

The top.

Climbing down.

The location of the mountain on the map.

I also visited the ocean. I washed my feet in it.

I also made a Facebook album about this climb with 24 photos: Montaña Roja (2023.06.02).

This was a very good day. Thank you for climbing with me.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

Must have been one hell of a climb!

It was not that hard at all. At least for me. I climbed higher mountains in Hungary approximately 10 years ago. For example the János-hegy (527 meters).

Welldone!

Thank you.

I heard about the Pinmapple community in the past, but I have not posted into it so far. I certainly keep posting, but not necessarily travel related posts. I post mostly for myself, as a diary/memory, and for everyone, who is genuinely interested in my life and/or in the things I do (nowadays I live and travel and do things on Tenerife).

Maybe I will try to publish one or more posts into the Pinmapple community.

I lived in a community cave after I arrived on Tenerife (on the afternoon of 2023.04.21). Currently I live in a tent. Still in the same community. I try to use as little money as possible. And I am very happy with this lifestyle. I like it very much.

Sometimes I promote my posts (for example this post too) on Ecency to have some visibility. People, who like to travel and/or mountain climbing might find this post interesting. Maybe some of them also choose to climb this mountain.

If I earn monetary rewards with my posts, then that is a bonus. I am happy and grateful for every reward.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.

It's kind of Hippy-Style. How long are you doing this already (I mean before Tenerife) and what do you live from? Even if you use "little money" you'll need some to survive...!HUG

I have not done this lifestyle before arriving on Tenerife. I struggled in Hungary. I lived in a partially collapsed house in the countryside, before I decided to move to Tenerife. I started this lifestyle on Tenerife on the afternoon of 2023.04.21. I live from my low (~€200 EUR) pension-like income. I live with multiple disabilities. This is why I receive a pension-like income.

200 EUR is not a lot my friend. Even not when living in a tent on the Canary Islands. At least the climate will be better than in Hungary !LOL I wish you the best of luck!

I know. It is under the local minimum wage even with the Hungarian standards. But it is enough to live.

At least the climate will be better than in Hungary.

Yes. The winter is warm (the temperature is around 15 °C).

I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you.

I've been thinking about your case and your way of living... I'm sorry if this is an inappropriate question for you, but don't you have any objectives in life rather than staying #alive?... I mean, I know it sounds very materialistic, and I guess it is, but isn't this lifestyle just a struggle to get from one day into the other?... !LUV

(Edited)

don't you have any objectives in life rather than staying #alive?

I have. Buying and keeping a bird (preferably a Harris's hawk) again. Similarly to my past. I had a female Harris's hawk. That was my only true love and my only true enjoyment in my life so far.

I mean, I know it sounds very materialistic, and I guess it is, but isn't this lifestyle just a struggle to get from one day into the other?

Other than a bird, I really do not like to have anything else in this life. The bird gives me the biggest love, peace and happiness in this world. And I give him/her the same. Currently honestly I am really struggling. Mostly emotionally. I miss my Harris's hawk. When my Harris's hawk was on my arm, I had the biggest peace of the world.

Currently I am in Hungary again. I damaged my left elbow five days ago by falling backwards on it in the rocky semi-desert on Tenerife. It healed a lot in the previous few days. Hopefully soon it will completely heal.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions! I hope your elbow will be healing soon and that you can go back to Teneriffa (if you'd like to at least, but I guess you want to).
Fortunately you were able to get back to Hungary when you want(ed) to. I mean with 200 EUR a month that wouldn't look like an easy issue... !LUV

The Teide is a much higher (3715 meters high) mountain. The highest mountain in Spain. Maybe one day I will climb it. Who knows.

Since I arrived on Tenerife (since the afternoon of 2023.04.21), I live near the ocean shore. This cave/tent living community is close to it. I see the ocean in the distance every day. And I relatively often visit it too.

Hello! Hello! What a view from up there! Great climb this day!

How are you doing now that the weather is warmer and you are used to living there? How is your brother doing? I know you said you talk to him frequently, so that is good. Also your sister. :)

Montana Roja was a fine adventure!

Yes. I used to it. I enjoy it. The daylight temperature today afternoon (under the sun) felt hot. This is summer. I know that the next months (especially the August) will be hotter.

How is your brother doing? I know you said you talk to him frequently, so that is good. Also your sister. :)

I talk to both of them frequently. They are good. Both of them saw my photos about Moñtana Roja. They are happy that I enjoy living on Tenerife.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
