A walk to the local store in my new shoes - My #WednesdayWalk (2023.01.11)

Today afternoon the postwoman gifted me a new shoes.

My previous shoes. It is in bad condition, but it is still wearable.

My new shoes are also pleasant to wear, similarly to my previous shoes. The postwoman told me that it is not waterproof, therefore I should avoid water with it. Yesterday there was a rain. There are puddles in the village. I avoid them.

Other than this, the weather is pleasant today. It is sunny, and the temperature is around 9 °C.

I bought only a few things in the store, and it was 3166 Hungarian Forint (HUF), which is currently $8.50 USD, because $1 USD is currently 372.48 Hungarian Forint (HUF). Recently everything is became so expensive.

The few things: 1 kg bread, 500 g butter, 100 g ham, 100 g pork chops, 85 g roasted, salted peanuts, and two chicken wings. I already ate the peanuts, and I already gave the chicken wings to my Harris's hawk, so these things are not present on the photo below.

This should be enough for a few days.

Everything became very expensive in the recent past. Probably soon I will need to sell some Hive. Even in this bear market.

If I earn back $0.50 USD with this post, then I will be lucky.

I wish that I could work in a normal job, but I live with multiple disabilities. And my brother too. We live on a low pension-like income. Mine is around 80 000 Hungarian Forint (HUF) per month, which is currently $214.78 USD per month. My brother have a similar income. A little lower, but I do not know how much.

See? Nowadays we can barely afford the food. Good that the postwoman gifted me the above mentioned shoes. I would not be able to afford them.

Nowadays I live in a village. Today I paid the following:
1 kg bread: 849 Hungarian Forint (HUF) ($2.28 USD).
500 g butter: 599 Hungarian Forint (HUF) ($1.61 USD).
The prices are similar in the bigger cities too.

And they are convenient too. Good to wear them. I hope that these shoes will last at least for a few months. Shoes (and the things in general) were much more durable in the past than nowadays.

cheaper for you here some things are crazy prices, I saw a dozen eggs the other day $12

Compared to the salaries in Hungary, the local prices are also crazy. The local minimum wage is around $622.85 USD per month, but most of the people live much under this. Many people live on the half of this. And even on less than the half of this (me too).

I hope too. We will not be able to pay this much for foods in long term. Our income is too low for this.

Congratulations on the new shoes and I agree that the prices have gone up. I don't think the economy around the world has ever recovered after the lockdowns.

Hopefully the food prices will return to the normal over time. With the low monthly income I receive nowadays, paying this much for food is not sustainable on long term.

Hi, I dont know about these things, but cant the hawk go on a hunt with you, or maybe it isnt allowed to go hunting with him?
Just ask because I am curious :-)

I need to take exams to do hunting (practice falconry) with my Harris's hawk in my country (in Hungary). And according to the local law, even the free flying is considered hunting.
