A fun weekend and while enjoying a tradition that is not held every year
Hello weekend friends, of course, all of us want a fun weekend, to make our minds calmer than the problems we faced the day before.
Today I want to share some cool moments in an area in Aceh, namely Bireuen, which is a tradition held by the local community. The tradition is to fly a kite into the air, and the people who participate also from small children to adults, even old people also enliven this game.
I rushed to go there to see the many kites flown by the local people, because the location chosen was a very large rice field area. and this tradition is held during the dry season or the rice fields are empty, due to several obstacles that allow farmers there not to plant rice. That way, this void is used as well as possible by the people there to make games that are fun for everyone.
Why is this tradition or game not held every year?
As I meant above that this tradition is only held during the dry season or the rice fields are empty of rice plants, and the vacancy of this rice field area is not once a year, but can be up to 3 or 4 years. Precisely with that the local community agreed to hold a game that can entertain everyone, this kite game is passed down from generation to generation there. So that people compete to fly their kites to a higher direction, there is even a kite fighting game to determine the highest kite that wins.
In the two days I went to the place to see this fun, there were a lot of people I met there, and especially this game is for boys. The first day I arrived was a bit late, right in the afternoon which was almost evening, if night fell then the game was stopped.
The second day I went back there early, because I wanted to see this game from the initial process of the glider flight. At the exact time I set, there I could see the initial process, starting with them trying to raise their kite to get to the air which was quite high.
One by one the kites began to be raised and I saw that there were also those who had difficulty raising them. I started to see a kite already up or in the air, and it was so exciting.
This is very decisive in the wind that blows, the wind in question is normal or not too low or fast to raise the kite perfectly.
Everyone, especially for people who have kites, they are highly recommended to be raised as soon as possible, because for the game "kites" in the future.
I also had time to see and take pictures of kites that were having trouble getting up, the kites came back down and had to be sterilized to get back up.

One kite must rely on two people, because they must have a friend to help them roll the thread.
The weather that day was very good because apart from the normal gusts of wind there was also no rain, so this game ran smoothly.
...and all the kites are up and in the air, then the real game will be held, which kites compete with each other to find the winner's kite.
So the champion was found at the end of the game, unfortunately my camera couldn't shoot it to get a clear photo.
This tradition or game is also beneficial for everyone, because in addition to this fun thing, it can also familiarize all the people who are present there.

Kite flying is so much fun, I've done it numerous times and always loved it. I have heard about kite fighting matches but I've never seen one yet, apparently they even tie blades or spikes to their kites to hurt their opponent's kite or cut it up so that it falls to the ground. It must be quite exhilarating to watch that kind of epic battle.
I made my own kite once out of bamboo when I was a kid and it flew so high I could barely see it, it was brilliant. I think it's time I made a new one!
haha looks like we have to make it soon, this happiness is sometimes not so often for all of us, we have to make the most of it. haha 😂😂
It must have been good and amazing to fly a kite in that kind of weather. Actually, it has been a while since I last touch a kite and fly in the farm as well.
