Today Juiz de Fora — the city where I was born, spent a good part of my life, and where I’ve returned to live — celebrates its anniversary, and I wanted to mark this day with a photo I took downtown, on an ordinary late afternoon, when the light hits the buildings in such a beautiful way and everything feels calmer, even amidst the daily rush. It’s funny how we often hurry through these places and don’t always realize how much they are part of our story, our routine, our memories.

Juiz de Fora is so much more than the streets we walk, the tall buildings, the traffic, and the always busy shops. It’s that coxinha we share with a friend in the middle of the afternoon, the stroll down the calçadão, the visits to UFJF, the nights that start without big plans and end up becoming great stories. It’s that feeling of coming home after a trip and realizing that, somehow, this is my place in the world.

The city has changed a lot over the years — new buildings have risen, some places have closed, others have opened — but it still holds an essence that is uniquely its own. A blend of big city and small town, of modernity and tradition. I think that’s what makes Juiz de Fora so special.

I feel incredibly proud to be part of this city. To see how it pulses, grows, reinvents itself, but never loses its charm. Happy anniversary, Juiz de Fora.

Hoje Juiz de Fora - a cidade onde nasci, passei boa parte da minha vida e voltei a morar - faz aniversário e eu quis marcar esse dia com uma foto que tirei no centro da cidade, num fim de tarde qualquer, quando a luz bate de um jeito bonito nos prédios e tudo parece mais calmo, mesmo com a correria do dia a dia. É engraçado como a gente passa apressado por esses lugares e nem sempre se dá conta de como eles são parte da nossa história, da nossa rotina, das nossas lembranças.

Juiz de Fora é muito mais do que as ruas que a gente percorre, os prédios altos, o trânsito e as lojas sempre cheias. É aquela coxinha que a gente come com amigo no meio da tarde, o passeio pelo calçadão, as idas à UFJF, as noites que começam sem grandes planos e acabam rendendo boas histórias. É a sensação de voltar pra casa depois de viajar e perceber que aqui é, de alguma forma, o meu lugar no mundo.

A cidade mudou muito com o passar dos anos - novos prédios surgiram, lugares fecharam, outros abriram - mas ainda guarda uma essência que é só dela. Uma mistura de cidade grande com interior, de modernidade com tradição. Acho que é isso que faz Juiz de Fora ser tão especial.

Sinto um orgulho enorme de fazer parte dessa cidade. De ver como ela pulsa, cresce, se reinventa, mas nunca perde o charme. Parabéns, Juiz de Fora.
