I'm looking through the glass

This week, I took advantage of the theme from @Qurator's Photo Quest — “Glass” — to explore my creativity a bit more and play around with some glasses I have at home. I decided to experiment with light, shadows, and colors, aiming to highlight the curves, transparencies, and reflections that only glass can offer.

I started with the image of the church, which appears in the background, distorted and framed by the glasses. I love how glass transforms such a familiar scene into something almost abstract, creating a fusion between reality and imagination. Then, I varied the compositions — sometimes playing with the contrast between the glass and background elements, other times exploring purer, geometric forms, focusing on refraction and color overlays.

The last photo is more minimalist, focusing on the silhouette of the glasses and the subtle glow of light reflected in them, creating a mysterious and elegant atmosphere.

I love this kind of experiment because it transforms simple objects into protagonists of images full of personality. I'm happy with the result, but mostly with the process: stopping, observing, testing angles, and realizing how small adjustments can completely change the visual narrative.

Essa semana aproveitei o tema do @Qurator's Photo Quest — “Glass” — para explorar um pouco mais a criatividade e brincar com algumas taças que tenho aqui em casa. Resolvi experimentar um jogo de luz, sombras e cores, buscando destacar as curvas, transparências e reflexos que só o vidro proporciona.

Comecei com a imagem da igreja, que aparece ao fundo, distorcida e emoldurada pelas taças. Adoro como o vidro transforma uma cena tão familiar em algo quase abstrato, criando uma fusão entre o real e o imaginário. Depois, fui variando as composições, ora brincando com o contraste entre o vidro e os elementos do fundo, ora explorando formas mais puras e geométricas, com foco na refração e na sobreposição de cores.

A última foto é mais minimalista, com foco na silhueta das taças e o brilho sutil da luz refletida nelas, criando uma atmosfera misteriosa e elegante.

Adoro esse tipo de experimento porque transforma objetos simples em protagonistas de imagens cheias de personalidade. Fico feliz com o resultado e, principalmente, com o processo: parar, observar, testar ângulos e perceber como pequenos ajustes podem mudar completamente a narrativa visual.
