A Walk Through A Painting Exhibit: Art & Beyond

Hi, there! It's me — Jo. It's been a while, Hivers! January is nearing its final days and so much has happened. Research defense is done, enrollment week, and now, our Pinning and Candlelight Ceremony will take place in the coming days before we get deployed for our Practice Teaching Internship. Honestly, everything felt like a whirlwind or perhaps I'm just overwhelmed with the fact that I'm gonna be teaching (for real!) haha. Anyway, I hope you're all doing fine wherever you are right now. I desire to bring warmth and foster appreciation toward arts through today's blog.

I've read somewhere that when people fail miserably to express themselves, they easily relate to songs, books, and poems that resonate with what they're currently feeling. I do that, too. There's a comforting vibe about how they speak right that we can't even utter. Aside from songs, books, and poems, I believe paintings also have a way of mirroring our emotions. It was fortunate for me that I was able to see this exhibit at Ayala Central Bloc located in IT Park. The space was transformed into a museum-like filled with paintings proudly showing a variety of subjects. I was immediately in awe looking at these paintings as someone who is not good at holding paintbrushes ( my hand is as rigid as my body when I dance haha). Kidding aside, when I walked around the area, surrounded by the paintings, it felt like I was transported somewhere else— where colors in their darkest and lightest tint, endless lines, forms, and textures, different subjects, and most importantly, abstract concepts that pierce right through the soul are harmoniously present together. I've managed to capture some of the paintings and decided to post them here because why not? They deserve this spotlight, don't you think?

This section right here features different kinds of flowers. I love how vibrant the colors and how vivid the details are emphasizing the beauty of the flowers.

These landscape paintings make you want to be right in this place the moment you look into it. A hut in the middle of nature, fresh air, birds chirping, river streaming, oh, what a life!

I love the metaphor of time and river in the first painting. Just as water continuously flows, time doesn't stop. It reminds us that life continues no matter if we are ready or not. Every tick of the clock is another step towards the future and even though we can't stop time, we can always look back and find the traces of time that passed by in places we went to, memories we stored in our minds, and in the people we met across this lifetime.

This particular painting caught my eye. The colors used aren't vibrant and it may be a typical scene when there's rain. However, what captured my interest are the details— how surreal the raindrops are, the lights from the cars and streets, and the silhouette of the buildings that give off a vibe straight out of a movie. It's like you're watching everyone go home after a long tiring day.

And last but not least are these paintings that feature a cat. I find it very adorable to see cats have their spotlight. The two paintings above are very comforting and warm, the colors are in soft hues, and they show the dynamics between a person and a cat. It highlights how cats are good companions, bringing both comfort and fun to people.

I don't know if I'm describing these paintings right but that's the beauty of art— its interpretation depends on the one looking at it. I hope in a short period, the paintings I've shared here brought a smile to your faces as they did to me. Hats off to the individuals behind these paintings!

See you in my next blog.❤️

So lucky of you to see those artist's masterpieces. They surely pour a lot of sweat and time to put their thoughts in those canvas. It's just amazing how they can create something extraordinary using their hands. How much time they used just to master each stroke no to make them more precise. Seriously, I wish I have that as skills or talent. How amazing it is if you can transform your thoughts into something amazing like this. ✨

Sameee, how incredible it would be if we're as talented as these artists. To be able to put into the canvas the scenery that captured our eyes, the people that make our life even better, and the little things that complete our day. Really huge respect to the artists for their craft—their arts make the world colorful and a better place to live in. ❤️✨

If i'm talented as them naku, I'll surely paint, draw and sketch a lot. I think we can still try it, but, if you are like lazy like that would be impossible talaga. Haha. I have this strong urge to learn and have that talent but I lack determination ( ꈍᴗꈍ). How about you? Lol
