Reflection on Kalimas River ~ Where the light dances and the city drifts in solitude

Greetings Hive worlds! It's me Iris from East Java, Indonesia. I always love looking at the city light because it always mesmerized me and calmed ny restless tought. So I try to capture the serenity of our city that basking in light from Kalimas river bank.

Today I had impromptu schedule that made me ended up in Surabaya. Since my cousin that visited us from Jakarta also happened to have things to do at Surabaya, we met up after work for short stroll and wind down. So I brought him to Kalimas Boat Tour to enjoy the night view of Kalimas River Bank.

Kalimas River is one of the main river that passed through the heart of Surabaya city. It used to be the integral part of the city, since it was one of the important transportation route. Although we didn't travel through bodies of water again, this faithful river is rich with history and echo from the past.

Nowadays, I still saw few boats mained by locals passed by for catching fishes, hunting valuables that washed away, or crossing over using the traditional ferry boat. However, our government also offer the Kalimas Boat Tour as a tourism project so people can ride a boat and enjoy the view from certain poin to another.

My cousin wanted to try the boat tour offered there, and since we still had time until the next boarding schedule, we took a light stroll alongside the river bank. I was fascinated by the dance of light on the pitch black water. Our city seemed drifted in the river's pulse, making the mesmerizing blends of colors.

It was a treat of colors that made my night today. I hope you enjoy this lovely view of my city.
