RE: The Great Theater in the Sky

What an amazing view from that theatre! I wonder, though, if it would be a distraction from the art you've gone to see? And to think how hard the actors would have to project their voices on a windy day.

I've been thinking a lot about tourist areas, lately. I've always lived in one (Cape Cod) and now I commute to another for work. Ironically, we never travel, but we rely on the tourism economy to make a living. It leaves one feeling a bit...disconnected, when there are so many people about that crowding and traffic is a constant problem, but somehow nobody actually lives there.

I think I'd like to live someplace boring for a while. Or at least go there on vacation. Find a quiet place that nobody wants to be, and sit still long enough to find the beauty in it.

I think it'd be less distracting back then, since we've developed this fascination for landscapes and natural settings (maybe as they're becoming scarce in our existence) that didn't exist then.

I think about that too! The people who live where you're just visiting and how boring/annoying the constant flow must get. It seems locals just find a way to tune it out, though.

I hope you find that quiet place. :) maybe it's time for a change.
