In any city in the world, it's important to maintain a balance with nature. The green spaces within urban areas provide citizens with a better atmosphere and, of course, enhance the aesthetics of their surroundings. Therefore, I present to you the Negra Hipólita Park, located in the city of Valencia, Carabobo State, Venezuela. It's a vital green lung for the city, situated in a central location, very close to impressive areas like Bolívar Avenue, a popular thoroughfare for residents and a plaza lined with numerous businesses and residences.

It had been a long time since I'd visited this park. Previously, I went there frequently, whether to take a walk or take photographs. Its large trees, woods, and paths connect via bridges over the Cabriales River. This park is a favorite spot for many people—families, athletes, and even tourists—to spend an afternoon in nature. It's located in Valencia, a city that has always been characterized as an industrial center, but which is itself a state that preserves abundant vegetation nestled in its surrounding valleys. This park boasts a vast network of paths, nearly two kilometers long, perfect for those who enjoy walking or jogging.

On this occasion, I took a quick tour, though I didn't explore the entire park. I only wanted to visit spots I've always loved, such as an area that shelters a small forest with large trees. These trees, perhaps hundreds of years old, have managed to survive the city's development and its own urban planning, which has led to the constant clearing of nature for construction. However, this park was also part of the city's planning, with the intention of preserving the existing vegetation and creating a better harmony between concrete, nature, and humankind.

That afternoon, during my visit, the weather was a mix of rain and sunset, making for a cool and pleasant day. For those interested in visiting, this park is completely free. There are food and drink vendors, as well as horseback riding opportunities. The park also has stables and an amphitheater for cultural events. But what truly captivates visitors is the park's lush greenery that vibrant green that colors every space and makes the air feel incredibly fresh. Nearby attractions include the Misael Delgado Stadium and the Iturrizas Palace. The city center and its historic district are also relatively close, offering a chance to admire the beautiful architecture and discover countless stories and anecdotes that have shaped this city into one of Venezuela's most important.

All photographs are my own.
