Carnival days in the street - Monomad Challenge

These photos were taken during Carnival in Valencia, Venezuela. They show various aspects of how I see life on the streets. On one hand, the streets are almost deserted, perhaps because many people are at the beaches or elsewhere, but even so, there are still some people simply going about their lives. That's how I see it too—another day to go on in this life. Meanwhile, we see people, especially in this series, with different realities, realities that make us reflect and think.

On one hand, we see children playing and enjoying moments with their parents. It's a display of a child's innocence and how they perceive their surroundings regardless of what's happening. But we also see people experiencing homelessness who must struggle daily to find food to eat. It's a sad reality that happens all over the world, but we all go about our lives at our own pace.

This is a contrast of realities that confirms what the streets are like on days that for many are days of rest or celebration, while for others it's just another day to go. These days are extremely hot; so much so that I've spent a lot of time in the sun during my long walks around the city, but always with the thrill of capturing scenes like the ones I'm showing.

All photographs are my own.

AMAZING SHOTS!!!
A very different perspective between some photos and the second, different realities at the same time, excellent work.
What a beautiful pause through photography. The life in Valencia, Venezuela is simple and alive. You can see how people mind their businesses and maximize the joy they have in the present. All are in different pacing and your narrative captured it. Nice shots to be honest and the timeless colors add value to the photos.❤️ Thank you for sharing this with us @wilfredocav.
