Hello, friends! I hope you're all doing very well! 😊 Today, I want to share with you one of the most exciting moments of this beautiful stage I'm living: my pregnancy. I'm already in the second trimester, and if there's something we've been eagerly waiting for, it's finding out the gender of our baby. Fortunately, the wait is over! And I couldn't be happier to tell you all about it — from the anticipation leading up to it, to the beautiful gender reveal party that my family lovingly prepared for my husband and me.

🎈 The Party Planning

Ever since we found out we could learn the baby's gender, my family was just as excited as we were. And when the idea of having a gender reveal party came up, they couldn’t wait! We had no idea where to start, since we had never thrown or attended one before, but they took the initiative and handled every detail with so much love.

The decorations were simply beautiful: balloons in shades of pink, blue, and white, curtains in blue and pink with balloons that said Boy and Girl, a table filled with delicious food, and of course, the cake that had the correct color inside to reveal the gender. The whole atmosphere was filled with excitement. Every corner had a special touch, and the sweetest part was that no one (not even us) knew the result, so we were all equally anxious for the big moment. Only my sister-in-law knew the big secret, which is why she was the one in charge of getting the cake and the smoke cannons.

💭 The Pre-Reveal Emotions

The excitement you feel at a gender reveal is hard to explain. On one hand, you're nervous, thrilled, imagining what your baby will be like. On the other hand, you're surrounded by people who love you and are sharing an unforgettable moment with you. Everyone had their own guess about what the baby might be, so each person was wearing a sticker with what they thought it would be 😄.

My husband and I couldn’t stop asking ourselves: “Will it be a girl? Will it be a boy?” But we knew that whatever it was, it would be perfect and we would love them so much.

🎉 The Big Moment

A few days before the party, I had the ultrasound, and they gave us a sealed envelope with the result, which went straight into the hands of my sister-in-law, who prepared the surprise. In our case, they chose to do it with smoke cannons that, when fired, would reveal the correct color. Besides that, a cake was made with the same color inside.

We took a deep breath; there were nerves and excitement about finally knowing what it would be. Everyone started a countdown and... we fired the cannons!

When we saw the pink smoke, we couldn’t hold back our emotions. It was a magical moment — one of those you know you’ll remember for the rest of your life. We cried, laughed, hugged... it was perfect! It’s hard to put all that emotion into words. Finally knowing that a little girl was on her way made everything feel so real; it was truly an unforgettable experience.

🥳 Enjoying the Party

After the long-awaited moment, we continued with the celebration. My brother’s mother-in-law had prepared some fun games for us with dolls and questions to test how ready we are to become parents. Let’s just say our scores weren’t very high — we need to study more 😅.

Then it was time to open the gifts 🎁. It was very special to receive them from our family and friends. After that, we cut the cake, which of course was strawberry and absolutely delicious. We then enjoyed all the treats we had brought to share.

💖 A Memory Forever

This gender reveal was so much more than just a party. It was a beautiful reminder of how much love surrounds our baby even before being born, and of the wonderful family and friends we are blessed with. I am deeply grateful to everyone who made it possible and shared this special moment with us, whether in person or from afar.

Now it’s official — we know who’s on her way! Our little princess, Emily Elizabeth 🩷🩷🩷.

Hola, amigos. ¡Espero que se encuentren muy bien! 😊
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes uno de los momentos más emocionantes de esta hermosa etapa que estoy viviendo: mi embarazo. Ya me encuentro en el segundo trimestre, y si hay algo que hemos estado esperando con muchísima ilusión, es conocer el sexo de nuestro bebé.
Afortunadamente, ¡la espera terminó! Y no puedo estar más feliz de contarles cómo fue todo, desde la emoción previa hasta la hermosa fiesta de revelación de género que mi familia preparó con tanto amor para mi esposo y para mí.

🎈 La organización de la fiesta

Desde que supimos que podíamos conocer el sexo del bebé, mi familia se emocionó tanto como nosotros. ¡Y ni hablar de la idea de hacer una fiesta de revelación! No sabíamos por dónde empezar, pues nunca habíamos hecho ni estado en una antes, pero ellos tomaron la iniciativa y se encargaron de cada detalle con muchísimo amor.

La decoración fue simplemente hermosa: globos en tonos rosa, azul y blanco, cortinas en azul y rosa con unos globos que decían Boy y Girl, una mesa de comida deliciosa junto al pastel que por dentro tenía el color correcto para revelear el sexo y un ambiente lleno de emoción. Cada rincón tenía un detalle especial, y lo más lindo fue que nadie (ni nosotros) sabía el resultado, así que todos estábamos igual de ansiosos por el gran momento. Solamente mi cuñada sabía el gran secreto, por eso fue la encargada de comprar el pastel y los cañones de humo.

💭 Las emociones previas

La emoción que se vive en un gender reveal es difícil de explicar. Por un lado, estás nerviosa, ilusionada, imaginando cómo será tu bebé. Por otro, estás rodeada de personas que te quieren y están compartiendo contigo un momento irrepetible. Cada uno tenía una opinión diferente sobre que pudiera ser, por eso cada uno llevaba puesta una etiqueta con lo que creían que sería 😄.

Mi esposo y yo no podíamos dejar de preguntarnos: “¿Será niña? ¿Será niño?” Pero sabíamos que lo que fuera sería perfecto y lo íbamos a amar mucho.

🎉 El gran momento

Unos días antes de la fiesta me hice el ultrasonido y allí nos entregaron un sobre cerrado con el resultado, que fue directo a manos de mi cuñada quien preparó la sorpresa. En nuestro caso, eligieron hacerlo con unos cañones de humo qué al encenderlos revelarían el color adecuado. Además de eso, se mandó a hacer un pastel con el mismo color por dentro.

Respiramos profundo, había nervios y ansiedad de por fin saber que sería. Todos comenzaron a hacer una cuenta regresiva y... ¡encendimos los cañones!

Al ver el humo rosa salir no pudimos contener la emoción. Fue un instante mágico, uno de esos que sabes que recordarás toda la vida. Lloramos, reímos, nos abrazamos... ¡fue perfecto! Es difícil poner toda esa emoción en palabras, el hecho de finalmente saber que vendría una niña en camino hizo que todo fuera tan real, fue muy emocionante en verdad.

🥳 Disfrutando de la fiesta

Después del tan esperado momento continuamos con la fiesta. La suegra de mi hermano había preparado unos juegos para nosotros con unos muñecos y preguntas para ver que tan preparados estamos para ser padres. Las notas no fueron muy buenas, hay que estudiar 😅.

También llegó el momento de abrir los regalos 🎁, fue muy especial recibirlos de nuestros familiares y amigos. Luego partimos el pastel, que por supuesto era de fresa y estaba delicioso. Después, disfrutamos de todas las delicias que habíamos llevado para compartir.

💖 Un recuerdo para siempre

Este gender reveal fue mucho más que una fiesta. Fue un recordatorio de cuánto amor rodea a nuestro bebé desde antes de nacer, y de la hermosa familia y amigos que tenemos. Agradezco profundamente a todos los que lo hicieron posible y compartieron este momento con nosotros, ya sea en persona o a la distancia.
