Los Reyes Magos en Brasil / ¿Qué es un bebé reborn? (ESP/ENG)

Hola amigos, que bueno saludarlos de nuevo, hoy les traigo un post bastante atrasado pero la verdad es que la maternidad ocupa todo y digo TODO mi tiempo 😅. Ahora mi bebita es mi prioridad número 1, pero siempre tengo presente mis comunidades de Hive y aunque tenga bastante contenido ya no consigo publicar tan a menudo.

En fin, aunque ya la fecha pasó hoy les quiero contar sobre el día de los Reyes Magos, un día tan especial para los niños y ahora tenemos dos princesas en la familia, mi sobrina Natasha y mi hija Emily 🥰.

Empezaré por decirles que aquí en Brasil no se celebra esta tradición como en Cuba, donde los niños reciben su regalo cada 6 de enero y crecen creyendo que son los tres Reyes Magos quienes entran misteriosamente en cada hogar a dejar los regalos. Por el contrario, los niños en Brasil reciben sus presentes el 25 de diciembre, día de navidad y por supuesto conforme a esta tradición es Santa Claus quien los trae.

Este año quise mantener la tradición cubana, pues simplemente me trae muy bonitos recuerdos de mi infancia, por lo que el 6 de enero le hice un regalo a mi sobrina Natasha y a Emily también.

Para Natasha que ya casi cumple 2 años le regalé una muñeca muy bonita y especial, una "bebé reborn", que es algo que se ha vuelto muy popular aquí. Resulta que estos muñecos son muy realistas e imitan casi a la perfección la apariencia, peso y tacto de un bebé de verdad 😅. Para que tengan una idea de a que nivel va esto, la muñeca viene con papeles 😅, pues sí, desde su certificado de nacimiento, tarjeta de vacunación, hasta un ultrasonido y la huella de su pie donde puedes ponerle incluso una foto al lado. Además de eso viene con un manual de cuidados.

La muñeca viene en una caja que, con el dibujo de una cigüeña, anuncia que el bebé llegó. El material es de silicona, el pelo se ve bastante realista y los detalles son muy buenos, incluso pesa como un bebé recién nacido. Además de sus papeles, la muñeca trae un culero desechable, unos guantes, el tete y el biberón. Está vestida con un vestido y un gorrito, demás está decir que a mi sobrina le encantó.

De hecho fue muy gracioso como se la dimos, pues le dijimos que era su prima Emily. Ella ya está acostumbrada a saludar a su primita cuando viene a la casa, y en el momento que vio la muñeca se quedó sorprendida pues esperaba ver a la niña 😅, pero no se dejó engañar, ella sabía que esa no era la verdadera Emily 🤣.

Para Emily, como aún es una bebé, le compré un tapete de actividades musicales, el cual trae una especie de piano con 4 botones los cuales se activan al toque y reproducen varios sonidos musicales y canciones, especial para las patadas de Emily 😅. También trae varios sonajeros que se cuelgan en una arco, los cuales ella puede agarrar. En general tiene un visual muy atractivo, pues con colores llamativos y la música la niña se mantiene entretenida a la vez que estimula sus sentidos y habilidades motoras.

En fin, este 6 de enero fue especial para las dos niñas de la casa, Natasha recibió muchos regalos y me encanta verla disfrutar tanto 🥰. Para las próximas navidades creo que lo mejor será seguir las tradiciones de aquí, pues al final es la cultura con la que ellas van a crecer y lo que verán cuando estén en la escuela y compartan esta experiencia con sus amigas brasileñas, lo importante no será el día sino lo que representa y que ellas reciban sus presentes. Claro que siempre les vamos a estar inculcando también las tradiciones cubanas que son parte de ellas también. Gracias a todos por leer 😊.

Hello friends, it’s so nice to greet you again. Today I bring you a rather late post, but the truth is that motherhood takes up all — and I mean ALL — of my time 😅. Now my baby girl is my number one priority, but I always keep my Hive communities in mind, and even though I have plenty of content, I can no longer post as often.

Anyway, even though the date has already passed, today I want to tell you about Three Kings’ Day, such a special day for children. And now we have two little princesses in the family: my niece Natasha and my daughter Emily 🥰.

I’ll start by saying that here in Brazil this tradition is not celebrated the same way as in Cuba, where children receive their gifts every January 6th and grow up believing that it is the Three Wise Men who mysteriously enter each home to leave the presents. On the other hand, in Brazil children receive their gifts on December 25th, Christmas Day, and according to this tradition, it is Santa Claus who brings them.

This year I wanted to keep the Cuban tradition, simply because it brings back very beautiful memories of my childhood. So on January 6th I gave a gift to my niece Natasha and also to Emily.

For Natasha, who is almost 2 years old, I gave her a very beautiful and special doll, a “reborn baby,” which has become very popular here. These dolls are very realistic and almost perfectly imitate the appearance, weight, and feel of a real baby 😅. To give you an idea of how detailed this is, the doll even comes with documents 😅: a birth certificate, a vaccination card, an ultrasound, and even a footprint where you can place a photo next to it. In addition, it comes with a care manual.

The doll comes in a box that, with the drawing of a stork, announces that the baby has arrived. It is made of silicone, the hair looks quite realistic, and the details are very well done. It even weighs like a newborn baby. Besides the documents, the doll comes with a disposable diaper, gloves, a pacifier, and a baby bottle. It is dressed in a little dress and a hat. Needless to say, my niece loved it.

In fact, the way we gave it to her was very funny, because we told her it was her cousin Emily. She is already used to greeting her little cousin when she comes to the house, and when she saw the doll she was surprised because she expected to see the real baby 😅. But she wasn’t fooled — she knew that was not the real Emily 🤣.

For Emily, since she is still a baby, I bought her a musical activity mat, which has a kind of piano with four buttons that activate when touched and play different musical sounds and songs, perfect for Emily’s little kicks 😅. It also has several rattles that hang from an arch, which she can grab. In general, it has a very attractive look, with bright colors and music that keep her entertained while also stimulating her senses and motor skills.

In short, this January 6th was special for both girls in the house. Natasha received many gifts, and I love seeing her enjoy them so much 🥰. For the next Christmases, I think it will be best to follow the traditions here, because in the end it is the culture they will grow up with and what they will see at school and share with their Brazilian friends. What matters most will not be the day, but what it represents and that they receive their gifts. Of course, we will also always teach them Cuban traditions, which are part of them too.
