A visit from my dad - spending the weekend together 🥰
Hello friends, this weekend I had a special visit, as my dad came to see me. He lives in Havana and we don't get to see each other as often as we would like, but we always see each other on vacations and at the end of the year. He had not planned to come to see me so soon, as I was recently there enjoying my summer vacation, but something happened that he took as an excuse to come to see me and walk again in the city where he grew up.
The thing is that a few weeks ago we were talking with my cousin Yamill, who lives in the United States, and my dad asked him to send him a fishing rod, because he is a fisherman, it is what he likes to do since he was a child and it is also his livelihood. My cousin promised him that he would buy his rod and other fishing tackle, but my dad did not imagine that the package would arrive so quickly, and as soon as he found out that his rod was already at my house he decided to come and pick it up.
My dad could not have chosen a better time to come to Pinar del Río, as his visit coincided with the 156th anniversary of the founding of the city, which was celebrated yesterday, September 10. For this reason, from Friday and throughout the weekend, there were popular street parties, with music and food to celebrate another anniversary of the city. My dad arrived on Saturday afternoon, and in the evening we all went out to have some fun.

We went out with my mom, my aunt, my husband and some friends. It was so fun seeing the town in such a happy mood. There were so many things to eat and to drink. The kids had their space too, since there were some attractions for them to ride. We enjoyed the music and danced until past midnight, then we called it a night and went back home. It was such a fun night, I loved watching my parents dance, they are no longer a couple, but they are very good friends. Everybody had a great night 😁👌.
On Sunday morning we went for a walk around the city, as it brings so many memories for my dad. He lived here during most of his life until he moved to Havana. He really enjoyed seeing how beautiful the city is and walking again through these streets.

He was so happy when we gave him his fishing rod, it's a good one he says and he's so eager to use it. But that wasn't the only good thing, I also bought this pair of jeans for him, they were a little big but my grandmother is a seamstress so she fixed them and they looked perfect on him. My dad was very happy and grateful to both of us.

Later on Sunday we got invited to dinner at my in-laws. We spent a lovely evening there and he got to know my husband's family a little better. At the time of having dinner we got surprised with a blackout, but that didn't stop us from having a good moment and enjoy the rest of the evening, even if we had to eat with the light of a lamp. We are used to things like this in this country 🇨🇺 and we handle it with the best attitude, there's no other way.
