Sonnenuntergang in Venedig! Sunset in Venice! [DE/EN]

Buon giorno miteinander!

Es ist so weit der Winter klopft langsam an der Türe und das nasskalte Wetter zwingt mich wieder mehr Zeit innerhalb meiner eigenen vier Wände zu verbringen. Der heurige Sommer und Herbst waren nicht nur wegen des Wetters ein Traum, sondern auch weil ich viele tolle Abenteuer und Ausflüge untenehmen konnte. Diese möchte ich euch nun in den kommenden Tagen ausführlich vorstellen. Beginnen werden wir mit einer wunderschönen Sonnenuntergansstimmung in Venedig, die ich Ende Oktober in der wohl einzigartigsten Stadt Europas festhalten durfte.

Winter is slowly knocking on the door and the cold and wet weather is forcing me to spend more time inside my own four walls again. This summer and fall were not only a dream because of the weather, but also because I was able to go on many great adventures and excursions. I would like to present these to you in detail over the next few days. Let's start with a beautiful sunset in Venice, which I was able to capture at the end of October in what is probably the most uniqe city in Europe.

Ich bin wohl gefühlt der einzige in meinem Freundes- und Bekanntenkreis der noch nie in Venedig gewesen war. Als Mitteleuropäer kaum vorstellbar, dass ich tatsächlich noch nie die italienische Lagunenstadt an der Adria besuchen konnte. Doch Ende Oktober diesen Jahres war es endlich soweit. Ich nutzte einen Kurzaufenthalt in Jesolo um einen Tagesausflug in die wohl bemerkenswerteste Stadt Europas zu unternehmen. Mit der Fähre angekommen war ich dann wahrlich überwältigt, denn Venedig zog mich sofort in seinen Bann.

I feel like I'm the only one in my circle of friends and acquaintances who has never been to Venice. As a Central European, it's hard to imagine that I've never actually been able to visit the Italian lagoon city on the Adriatic. But at the end of October this year, the time had finally come. I took advantage of a short stay in Jesolo to take a day trip to what is probably the most remarkable city in Europe. When I arrived on the ferry, I was truly overwhelmed, because I was immediately captivated by Venice.

Die geschichtsträchtige Stadt versprüht ein ganz besonderes Flair, welches man auf diesem Planeten garantiert kein ein zweites Mal findet. Die engen Gassen, die unzähligen Kanäle, die alten Gemäuer, die vielen niedlichen Brücken und die zahlreichen kleinen Geschäfte und Lokale lassen jedes Touristenherz höher schlagen. Natürlich muss man sich Venedig mit Unmengen an Touristen aus aller Welt teilen, doch das rege Treiben mit der extra Portion an italienischem Feeling hat irgendwie etwas charmantes an sich. In einem halben Tag hatte ich zumindest die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten wie den Markusplatz, den Dogenpalast, sowie die Rialto- und Seufzerbrücke erkunden können. Eine Gondelfahrt durch die berühmten Kanäle und ein Aperol Spritz mit einem Stück Pizza am Canal Grande durfte natürlich auch nicht fehlen. In Venedig lässt sich das Leben definitiv genießen – ich werde bestimmt wieder kommen!

The historic city exudes a very special flair that you are guaranteed not to find a second time on this planet. The narrow alleyways, the countless canals, the old walls, the many cute bridges and the numerous small stores and restaurants make every tourist's heart beat faster. Of course you have to share Venice with tons of tourists from all over the world, but the hustle and bustle with the extra portion of Italian feeling somehow has something charming about it. In half a day, I was able to explore at least the most important sights such as St. Mark's Square, the Doge's Palace and the Rialto and Bridge of Sighs**. Of course, a gondola ride through the famous canals and an Aperol Spritz with a slice of Pizza on the Grand Canal were also a must. You can definitely enjoy life in Venice - I will definitely be back!
