Yesterday, my cousins, my aunt, and I embarked on a beautiful journey from our hometown to visit the city of Chandigarh. The ride took us around 4 to 5 hours, but we made sure to enjoy every moment along the way, stopping for a delicious lunch.
When we got to Pinjore, we suddenly decided to visit the famous Pinjore Garden. We parked our car in the special parking area and saw signs showing different things you could do in the garden. We were surprised to find out that the garden also had rooms you could stay in. There were boards showing the prices and what each room had to offer.
Outside, we also saw many fun activities for kids, making the place lively.
Near the entrance, there was a board that told us about the history and importance of the garden.
The notice shared important information about the history and significance of the garden. It said that the Mogul Gardens of Pinjore are among the most beautiful and oldest gardens in Northern India. The gardens are spread across seven terraces that gradually slope downwards, with the main gateway opening to the highest terrace. The entire garden is surrounded by a fortified wall.
The history of Pinjore dates back to the days of the Mahabharata. Legend has it that during their exile, the Pandavas discovered this lovely spot, then known as Panchpurra. They stayed here frequently during their reign before ultimately disappearing into the Himalayas.
The present form of the gardens was designed by Fidai Khan in the 17th century. Fidai Khan, a trusted lieutenant and architect of Aurangzeb, was the governor of Punjab when he visited this place.
After buying our tickets for only Rs. 25 each, we walked through the gate decorated with colorful paintings and fancy designs.
As we entered through the gate, we were amazed by the beautiful architecture all around us.
Inside, we saw a grand castle surrounded by many different flowers and plants. The garden was a delight to our senses, with vibrant flowers everywhere and the calming smell of nature in the air.
As we spotted the castle, we got excited and headed towards it. Along the way, we noticed informative boards displaying directions to various places and mahals within the garden.
Arriving at the first castle, I couldn't resist capturing its beauty of the castle. The castle looked stunning.
After exploring the mini-castle, we stumbled upon a breathtaking fountain, shaped like a pool, situated just behind it.
It was so beautiful , adding charm to the garden.
As we continued walking, we came across the Rang Mahal, another stunning castle. This one had three floors and boasted a beautiful balcony offering scenic views.
It served as the banquet hall of the garden, but access to the upper floors was restricted. However, we were permitted to take photos from the ground floor.
The Rang Mahal was connected to the fountain you saw earlier, with a flowing water stream linking the two.
As we progressed along the path, surrounded by trees, the sound of the flowing water for so peaceful.
Thank you ☺️.
