A Fun and Memorable Visit to the Iconic Merlion Park (Fullerton Road, Singapore)

Hello, Worldmappin fam! ๐Ÿ’– Hope you're all doing well and having a wonderful day โœจ

After a day filled with learning and exploration about the incredible water management systems at Marina Barrage and the NEWater Visitor Centre, our first day ended when we went to one of the Singaporeโ€™s famous tourist attractions: Merlion Park (located at Fullerton Road).

1.jpg

It was the perfect way to end the day before going back to our accommodation and the timing couldnโ€™t have been better. By the time that we arrived at the park, the afternoon sun bathed the surroundings in a very warm glow with clear blue skies and the weather was so good to enjoy the view.

2.jpg

The park itself is so breathtaking. Situated by the river, the park offers a fantastic backdrop of high buildings with stunning architectural designs that blend nature and city life perfectly. In addition to the beauty of the park were the beautiful trees, flowering plants, and well-maintained walkways that made the atmosphere inviting and so refreshing.

3.jpg

From where we stood, we also had a perfect view of the world-renowned Marina Bay Sands whose imposing figure dominates the horizon.

4.jpg

Of course, the star of the park was none other than the Merlion Statue. Standing tall and majestic, the Merlion splashes out a powerful stream of water from its mouth, a symbol of the rich culture and heritage of Singapore.

5.jpg

While walking around the park, we also spotted mini versions of the Merlion, each squirting out less water; pleasant little companions to the main attraction. It was fun to see both, and the whole park felt lively.

7.jpg

What made this experience even more memorable were the people around us. The best spot to take photos was crowded, and people were all trying to get the best shots. Some opening wide their mouth so it would appear on the photo that they are drinking the water coming out straight from the Merlionโ€™s mouth. Others posing as if the Merlion was splashing them with water. We couldnโ€™t help but laugh at the creative poses tourists were making ๐Ÿ˜‚ And of course, we also joined the fun! ๐Ÿ˜…

9.jpg

We had our silly poses too, opening wide our mouth and pretending to be drinking water, and my friend even posed as if heโ€™s taking a shower under the fountain ๐Ÿคฃ Those carefree moments made what would be just a usual visit become something very unforgettable.

10.jpg

This visit at the Merlion Park made our trip even more special. It wasnโ€™t just about seeing the famous Merlion statue, but also about having fun, playing around, and making memories together. Surrounded by the horizon behind us, the river flowing nearby, and the Merlion majestically splashing water into the bay, I realized why is it the most iconic landmark in Singapore. Itโ€™s not just a statue; itโ€™s the symbol of the countryโ€™s blend of tradition, progress, and the joy of welcoming people all over the world.

13.jpg

That afternoon at the Merlion Park was a perfect finale to end our first day in Singapore. Itโ€™s a mixture of learning, leisure, and fun that we will always look back on with a smile ๐Ÿ˜Š
