Mysterius life found on the beach at Feurtaventura

(Edited)

In January due to really shot day (sunset before 4PM) we became very miserable and depressed. So in order to try get better we managed to find flight from Warsaw to Feurtaventura via UK. We spent there total of 5 days. Little short but it was most 'economic' solution we could find.
During one trip we went to see Natural Park Corallejo and north east side of island.

Immediately at beach we were positively surprised to see once again popcorn coral pieces. We read on some traveling blog that popcorn is at the Northern side of the island not on the east side. But live and learn ;-)

Then I saw something strange

Sorry for 2.40:1 aspect ratio, I've saw some photos with that aspect and try using it my self

It look like a silicone dildo washed ashore. Said to myself - lol dildos. I was pretty sure that it must have being something artificial as it was like pure silicone. One thing was weird, those dildos were hollow inside. Instead of further investigation I assumed it was different kind of accessory ;-) But we all know what assume means - you make ASS of U and ME...

The whole beach was full of this. If it was to be human made this means container would need to drown somewhere nearby.

After coming home, we realized this is Pyrosome - sea pickle. Which is colony of zooids organism. It filters water for zooplankton. So this is why it was hollow inside Not much articles with valuable information I could find, learn and share with you... But they can get as big as 18 meters. 18 and not centimeters, but meters.

This was my 1st time and Canary Islands - so maybe they are common or I just got lucky to be witness to this wash.
