Day four of vacation. Pravčická Gate. | Dovolená den čtvrtý. Pravčická brána.

Today, we took an unplanned trip to visit Pravčice Gate. I was a bit worried about the crowds of tourists, but in the end, we decided that this true icon of Bohemian Switzerland was worth seeing again.

Dnes jsme trochu neplánovaně vyrazili na prohlídku Pravčické brány. Obával jsem se davu turistů, ale nakonec jsme si řekli, že ikonu Českého Švýcarska stojí za to znova vidět.

For the first time on this vacation, we went there by car. From the parking lot, we followed the red tourist trail all the way up to Pravčice Gate.

Although the first part of the trail runs along the road for more than 1 km, it wasn’t without interest. We were struck by the burnt landscape all around us and the signs of new life, especially the birch trees that are now growing in abundance.
The fire broke out in July 2022 and affected more than 1,060 hectares of the park.

Poprvé na dovolené jsme vyjeli na místo autem.
Od parkoviště trasa vede po červené turistické značce až k Pravčické bráně celou dobu do kopce.

Přestože začátek trasy vede přes 1 km podél silnice, nebylo to úplně nudný. Naše pohledy přitahovala spálená příroda všude kolem a zrod nového života (hlavně bříza se hojně rozrůstá).
Požár vypukl v červenci 2022 a zasáhl více než 1060 ha plochy parku.

After about a kilometer, we left the road and continued on a paved path. From that point on, one breathtaking view after another opened up before us.

Po kilometru jsme odbočili ze silnice na zpevněnou cestu a od té chvíle se nám otevíral jeden úchvatný výhled za druhým.

The final ascent to Pravčice Gate led up stairs and across several footbridges.

Závěrečné stoupání k Pravčické bráně vedlo po schodech a několika lávkách.

And finally, Pravčice Gate revealed itself in all its glory.

With a span of 26.5 meters, it is the largest natural stone arch in Europe and a true symbol of Bohemian Switzerland.

No a nakonec se Pravčická brána zjevila v celé parádě.

Pravčická brána je ikonou Českého Švýcarska a s rozpětím 26,5 metru největším přírodním kamenným obloukem v Evropě.

Next to the arch stands the Sokolí hnízdo chateau with its restaurant, built in 1881.

V roce 1881 byl i brány postaven zámeček Sokolí hnízdo s restaurací.

After exploring the area, we returned to the parking lot along the same route. The walk downhill was pleasant and easy.

Po prohlídce okolí jsme se vrátili stejnou cestou zpátky k parkovišti. Cesta z kopce pěkně odsýpala.

Before leaving, we stopped at the Klepáč restaurant by the parking lot, which caught our eye with its large mill wheel and wooden water channel.

U parkoviště jsme zašli do restaurace Klepáč, která nás upoutala ""mlýnským"" kolem s dřevěným náhonem.

Right next to the parking lot, there is also a small waterfall.
