The New Look of Iloilo Central Market

Just a little bit of history, Iloilo Central Market was formerly known as "Tienda Mayor" and now, it's redeveloped into a modern market mall. It was reopened in October last year. The upgrade included improved ventilation, durable steel stalls, and more stores and shops to cater to all consumers' needs.

We arrived there around 1 pm, and we haven't eaten lunch yet. According to the informational directory at the entrance, the eatery is on the third floor. So we proceed to the 3rd floor. There were lots of small stores and eateries. I haven't taken any pictures here, maybe because I was already too hungry. 😁

We ordered pork liver bbq, lumpia, and chicken liver with egg adobo.
The food court area has limited space for customers.

After lunch, we hurriedly left. I managed to take a few more photos of the market. Showing a few stalls.

What I don't like about the new Central Market is the smell. Since the fish, meat, and dried fish are on the ground floor, you can still smell them up to the 3rd. Despite that, it is nice to see such improvement in the city. No more sticky floors and narrow aisles.
