Our Version of Filipino Christmas Feast π
'Tis the season to eat cake and make wishes

Merry Christmas to all Hivers!! πβοΈ
I hope you are all having a happy day with your family and/or friends..
Today is already the 25th day of December in my country..
and we already had our Christmas Eve dinner..
and that's what I am going to share with you, today..
My sister and I decided to spend Christmas together with our very own family..
My sister offered to be this year's host..
I offered to bring the following:
- Ube macapuno moist cake π

The cake has purple frosting and was sprinkled with desiccated coconut on top and on the sides.. It's also decorated with purple piped swirls at the top side.. the center of the cake was topped with a generous amount of shredded macapuno or the sweetened coconut...
In the bottom right corner, there were decorative pinecones and bright red mistletoe..
inside were layers of ube-flavored chiffon cake with sweetened coconut strips.. It was not too sweet.. everyone can't get enough of the macapuno.. π
- Creamy chicken with mushrooms π

My husband prepared fried chicken with creamy sauce and mushrooms.. he puts some all-purpose cream and mushroom with a little bit of seasoning.. this is our daughter's favorite ,so we wanted to let her little cousins have a taste of it, too.. and they loved it.. π the chicken was so tender and creamy..
the grilled pork was prepared by my sister's husband..
- cheesy spaghetti

another favorite is the cheesy spaghetti.. we put ground beef and hot dogs that were sliced thinly.. we also added cheese cubes to add more cheesiness to the flavor.. we used a sweet and sour sauce because children love sweet and cheesy spaghetti.. we also added cream in it to make the sauce creamy and thick.. It was perfect.. sweet pinoy-style spaghetti..
My sister prepared grilled pork (as shown above with the creamy chicken), fresh lumpia and the palabok..

The fresh lumpia were packed with carrots, lettuce, shrimp and cabbage.. topped with crushed peanuts.. I love the sauce, it was filled with chopped garlic.. π
My husband grabbed 2 of it.. it was his favorite of all the dishes..

and ohhh,, the palabok.. it was full of shrimp and slices of hard-boiled eggs on top.. It's saucy and savory.. π It also has chopped green onions and crushed chicharon or pork rinds which added to the texture and flavor.. It's also full of shredded lettuce and calamansi slices..
--
If you're asking,, where are the other lumpia or the Shanghai rolls??
well, it was long gone before I could even take out my phone to capture pictures.. π
Everyone's been grabbing for a bite, even just seconds after it was freshly fried.. you know, they were blowing while eating it.. π€£ they can't even let it cool for a few minutes.. tsk tsk.. π
well, that sums up our Christmas Eve feast..
I hope you are having or had a blast, too..
Thanks for reading..
Merry Christmas..
