My Sweet Niece's Surprise Gift for my Birthday

The Birthday That Never Ends 🎂

I really thought my birthday was over.
My cake was eaten, the candles were blown out, and the "Happy Birthday" songs were finished weeks ago.
We had a lovely day in the city with my husband and daughter. Then we brought some yummy treats (pasalubong) back home, and then jumped right back into our busy lives.

But someone in my family has a different idea of how birthdays work 😁

My sweet little niece believes that if it’s your birthday month, the party should begin without a gift. In her world, if you celebrate your birthday, you deserve a gift, no matter how much time has passed 😁

One day, I went out and had to eat my lunch with my husband. While we were busy enjoying our food, my sister kept texting me and asking when I would be back home. It's kinda weird, but I didn't think much about it.

What I didn't know, while I was busy chewing my food, was that my niece was on a secret mission. She wasn't just playing, she was planning for something.

Time for the big surprise 😁

My niece looked so excited to see us arrive home. She was pulling me towards the table. Then she showed me this.

I thought it was her gift for a friend. until I read what's written on the box.
"Happy birthday bobon", yup, that's me 😆

She saved up her own "baon" (snack money) just to buy me something special.

She hand-crafted a beautiful ring for me.
She made a custom keychain so I can carry her love wherever I go, but I don't know why she put the letter "E" there 🤣

It wasn't about the cost of the gifts.
It was the fact that this little girl kept me in her thoughts for weeks.
While the rest of the world moved on, she was still celebrating me.

It’s a great reminder that kids see the world with so much color and kindness. We could all learn a thing or two from her!
Sometimes, the best gifts aren't bought in a store, they are saved for, handmade, and given with a giant hug.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a fancy heart ring to wear for the rest of my day 😆💍✨
