Sharing my simple Sunday with my family!
Sunday is our market day.
My husband is a morning person, so he handles the market errands.
He heads out at 6:30 am to pick up everything we need, from fresh meat and vegetables to flowers and snacks.
By the time he arrives, my daughter and I will still be sleeping 🤣
He will then prepare our breakfast.
He woke me and told me he had a surprise.
I thought it was just a bunch of kakanin (local snacks) again, because that's what he always brings me every Sunday morning.
I was surprised when pointed outside the house.
I was so curious, and I hurriedly went out to check.
There were 2 pots of flowering plants.
he said he bought it so we can add it to our garden.
They were so pretty.
I think the white one is some variety of Daisy.
I don't know what the other one is, but it's pretty as well.
We had a lazy afternoon, and I watched a movie after my classes.
My husband handed me a pack of snacks.
Puto and kutsinta - Filipino steamed rice cakes, but they have different textures. Kutsinta is stickier and has grated cheese on top
There's also suman, which is made from glutinous rice (malagkit), coconut milk, and brown sugar. It was topped with latik (coconut caramel curds). Suman is the local term in my city, but it is called Biko in other parts of the country. 😊
The day went so fast that we hadn't realized it was almost sunset.
I saw some thick clouds in the sky.
They were forming like big cotton balls.
