My Afternoon Under the Avocado tree and the Singing Bird

It was a quiet afternoon, and the world felt very peaceful. I was lying on the trampoline, resting right under the shade of our big avocado tree. The sun was bright and hot, but the thick green leaves kept me cool and comfortable.
Suddenly, I heard a soft rustling sound coming from the branches above my head. I looked up and saw movements on the branches. Something was swooping in and out of the leaves very quickly. I grabbed my camera and used my zoom lens to spy on the branches. I wanted to see who was making all that noise.
After searching for a moment, I finally spotted a beautiful bird perched on a branch. It had shiny black feathers on its head and back, but its belly was as white as a cloud. It was a Philippine magpie-robin. It looked very elegant against the bright green leaves.

Then, the bird did something amazing. It opened its tiny beak and started to sing. The song was loud, clear, and very sweet. It sounded like a happy whistle echoing through the garden. I stayed very still because I did not want the music to stop. It felt like the bird was giving me a private concert.
I wanted to get a better view, so I stood up and tiptoed closer to the tree. I moved slowly and snapped a few more photos. The bird tilted its head and looked down at me with its small, dark eyes. I think it finally noticed me standing there.

With a quick flap of its wings, the bird zoomed away and disappeared into the trees. Our avocado tree is quiet again, but I feel so happy that I caught those few moments on my camera. I will be listening for that beautiful song again tomorrow or until its next visit. And until then, I will be waiting on my trampoline. 😊
