Finding Wild Cucumbers while Walking in the Woods

"I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees." β Henry David Thoreau
It was a brilliant sunny morning π, with a golden sun hanging high up in the blue sky.
Aside from a few wispy, drifting clouds, the sky was perfectly clear.
I can feel the sun's blazing heat and dazzling light.
Before I start my day's work, I decided to explore the woods near our home. It's been a while since I went there.
I wanted to pick some fruits and wild berries.
The scene surprised me.
Some tall trees at the entrance were cut down, but bushes grew taller, and I couldn't see the path.

Since I've been here multiple times, I asked my husband to clear a path for me.
I told him to wear thick boots to protect his feet against prickly plants and animal bites, especially snakes.
We don't see snakes out here very often, but it's better to be safe.
I explored deep in the woods and tried to look for some fruit.
There should be some chico fruits or Sapodilla, cashew fruits, apple guavas, and Jackfruits, but I haven't seen any today.
There were only bitter woods. π

I explored a bit deeper and found a few wild flowers.

Then, I saw some wild cucumbers creeping on a tree.
They are edible and taste like cucumbers, but there's a little hint of sourness.

I took a few of the light green ones.
The dark green causes stomach aches.
I was actually expecting other fruits, but I guess I was unlucky. π
I'll take a walk again on the other side, and let's find out together what fruit surprise is waiting for us.
