Last week, I travelled to the city. I explored different historical spots and famous attractions. One of the places I visited had this unique display of souvenir items. It was inside a hundred-year-old mansion. As I walked inside, I saw items so unique that it seemed like I wasn't inside a souvenir shop, but a museum of Filipino culture.

The first collection that caught my attention was the tote bags. Instead of some generic prints, these bags had vintage-inspired typography and pictures that celebrate the heart of Filipino life: the food 😊

from famous Filipino dishes like Kare-Kare and Pork Sisig.

all-time favorite Filipino snacks like banana cue, buko juice, and turon (banana, ube, langka).

Now, let's check the mugs. I'm not really fond of mugs as souvenirs but these made me want to buy one. 😁

First is the traditional jeepney.

And in the corner was a sungka board. This game is carved from wood and played with cowrie shells, is a staple of Filipino childhood games. Have you ever played sungka?

I saw some Koreans, Chinese, and other foreign tourists checking the items on display. I saw some getting interested not just with the items but the history behind every text and design. It's so nice to know that, beyond business, our culture is also promoted.

And they also have a Pasalubong House outside the mansion. I haven't checked the food items they have inside because it was already getting dark and we needed to go back to our hotel for dinner.

All in all, that was a nice tour. 😊 ❀️

Filipinos are widely known for being artistic and creative.
I like all the souvenir items, most especially the tote bag with Pork Sisig print. Sisig is one of my favorite dishes. 😍
