My First Visit at Our Farm in Talabaan, Manticao Misamis Oriental

Yesterday was my first time to visit in our farm in Talabaan located in the mountainous places of Manticao, I was delighted to go in the place and see what the farm looks like. As my Parents told me about the overlooking views and an adventuristic rocky roads will be pass. Traveling from Barangay Poblacion going to talabaan areas takes a few hours and it must be heading in the road located in the slope areas of the mountain. Well, this will be true a challenge and adventure to me because it was my first time. We started to travel at exactly 11 in the morning and good thing my Brother and Father owned a motorcyle also same as me. We can easily get in the place on time with no hassle and anytime we can go to the place. As we at the middle of our traveling adventure, I noticed that the road was filled with water and as I checked it it came from the cliff since this areas is rich of spring waters.

What Do I expect in the Place?

My expectation was really true, to see overlooking wonderful views at the mountain since Mount Talabaan is one of the high and majestic mountains in the town. Neighboring mountains of mountains in Manticao can be seen including some far places like Iligan City and Naawan. As I researched about the place, it is also a border point of Manticao and Naawan. I was enjoyed watching the beautiful views, small houses are built below including their Farm land and some road trails heading to the other side of the mountain. It tooks almost two hours of walking, we left our motorcycle in the plain areas but it was safe to leaved because few of my Parents friends are there.

Our Walking Journey Still continous:

First we passing by in this old and unique small house made with light materials like bamboos and round tembers. It was owned by a farmer here and He built this so He can have a place to put his farm tools and have a place to rest for a minute when it tired. But when the farmer left and go to other place, it was already abandoned leaving this house almost covered with wild grass. It is built at the top of the mountain and also expected to see overlooking views from there.

Before we arrived at our Farm, we also passing by a lots of farm owned by other people. One of this is the areas where lots of bananas planted at the mountain slope. The soil is always moist and wet because of the dews since this place is always cold. Each farmer here owned few hectares of land and it planted with different kinds of crops and other agricultural plants. This place is opened field and the plants can directly seen by the sunlight.

There are also lots of cornfield in fact most of the place are hectares of cornfield. This field is owned by one of Municipal official amd brought this place to plant lots of corn. The corn plants are nearly harvested and it will be lots of corn to harvest and the landowner will be very lucky.

Wild trees are only few here and most of it are planted by landowner. Most of the trees can found here are Mahogany and Prakata trees which some of the best in export, that is what I noticed yesterday during my Travel visit. Wearing thick jacket, rubber boots and pants are important because wild and dangerous animals are will expected here like snakes since the road trail is covered with thick wild grass.

I also noticed this wild flowers grows in the place and it only survives in a cold place. Bringing wild flowers are prohibited and the only thing we did is to watched those flowers only. Our Farm is near at the big spring of water and We nearly reach our destinations.

The Spring Water:

Finally after a few hours of walking travel, We already reached our farm. The water is very cold even if it is already noon time. We spend lots of time at the farm and for me it was truly and adventuristic experience in my life. Thank you for visiting my post, have a nice day to everyone.
