Recorrido por la icónica plaza "Redoma de La Copita": El verdadero corazón de Cumaná[Esp-Eng]
Hoy comparto mi visita a la redoma "La Copita", situada en la intersección de la avenida Gran Mariscal, la avenida Fernández de Serpa y la calle Sucre. Cerca de allí se alza un edificio, también conocido como "La Copita", que destaca por su llamativo diseño, sus cornisas y sus ventanas; a pocos metros se encuentra esta conocida redoma, caracterizada por sus vistosas líneas de colores. También está ubicada muy cerca del estadio Delfín Marval y de un muro con coloridos murales que se extienden hacia la calle Sucre y la escuela República Argentina. La redoma es de color azul y cuenta con diversos bancos, formaciones rocosas y árboles grandes, así como con senderos pavimentados con baldosas de caico y terracota; en su base, hay una fuente centrada en una escultura con forma de copa.
Today I am sharing my visit to the "La Copita" roundabout, located at the intersection of Gran Mariscal Avenue, Fernández de Serpa Avenue, and Sucre Street. Nearby stands a building—also known as "La Copita"—that stands out for its striking design, cornices, and windows; just a few meters away lies this well-known roundabout, distinguished by its eye-catching colorful lines. It is also situated very close to the Delfín Marval Stadium and a wall featuring colorful murals that extend toward Sucre Street and the República Argentina School. The roundabout is blue and features various benches, rock formations, and large trees, as well as walkways paved with caico tiles and terracotta; at its base, there is a fountain centered around a sculpture of a goblet.
En una zona de esta glorieta vemos bancos algunos azules y otros con una combinación de azul, verde, naranja y amarillo, junto a una palmera. A continuación, se aprecia la parte posterior y la fuente triangular; también son visibles los murales y una vista parcial de la escuela República Argentina. La siguiente fotografía muestra detalles de la fuente en su nivel inferior, las pasarelas superiores, el túnel que conduce al nivel superior de la fuente y los canales por donde fluye el agua.
Luego se presenta una vista de la disposición de la glorieta: las pasarelas forman una estrella, con bancos situados en sus cuatro puntas. Junto a ellos hay grandes rocas pintadas de amarillo y azul. A continuación, vemos los murales y la pasarela que bordea la fuente. Después se muestra la avenida Fernández de Cepa, que se cruza con la avenida Gran Mariscal en esta glorieta; aquí se pueden ver los bancos, rocas pintadas con los colores amarillo, azul y rojo de la bandera venezolana, y árboles de Neem que refrescan el ambiente de la plaza. In one area of this traffic circle, we see benches—some blue, others featuring a mix of blue, green, orange, and yellow—along with a palm tree standing beside them. Next, we have a view of the rear section and the triangular fountain; the murals and a partial view of the República Argentina school are also visible. The following photograph shows details of the fountain at the lower level, the upper walkways, the tunnel leading to the fountain's upper tier, and the channels where the water flows.
Next is a view of the traffic circle's layout: the walkways form a star shape, with benches positioned at the four points. Beside them are large rocks painted yellow and blue. We then see the murals and the walkway running alongside the fountain. Following that is a view of Fernández de Cepa Avenue, which intersects with Gran Mariscal Avenue at this circle; visible here are the benches, rocks painted in the yellow, blue, and red of the Venezuelan flag, and neem trees that provide a cooling effect for the plaza. Finally, there is a full view of the traffic circle, including the trees and palm trees that adorn it.
La siguiente fotografía muestra la estructura en forma de "copa" —con sus hermosos colores— y la vegetación circundante; la fuente se encuentra actualmente seca, tal vez debido a la temporada de sequía o a trabajos de mantenimiento en la glorieta. También se aprecia una vista de la avenida Fernández de Serpa, los bancos dispuestos a un lado, el pavimento de baldosas de caico y un sendero que conduce hacia la fuente.

La última fotografía muestra la estructura de la copa en el centro de la glorieta, con dos palmeras al frente, bancos a los lados y la vegetación del entorno; realmente me gustaron el diseño y los colores vibrantes. The next photograph shows the "cup" structure—with its beautiful colors—and the surrounding plants; the fountain is currently dry, perhaps due to the dry season or ongoing maintenance on the traffic circle. We also see a view of Fernández de Serpa Avenue, benches along one side, the caico tile paving, and a walkway leading toward the fountain.
The benches feature a striking design: an L-shaped support without a backrest. On the other side, we see planters, walkways, and two benches situated at the edge of the traffic circle, followed by a view of the cup structure and the blue walls separating it from the gardens, benches, and plants. It sits in the lower section of the traffic circle—dropping down about 70 centimeters—and we can see platforms positioned beside the planters. The final photograph shows the cup structure at the center of the traffic circle, with two palm trees in front, benches on the sides, and the surrounding vegetation; I really liked the design and vibrant colors.
