Hoy comparto mi recorrido por la avenida Humboldt, donde descubrí hermosos murales que rinden homenaje a figuras destacadas del estado Sucre, entre ellas poetas, cantantes, compositores y músicos que han dejado un legado significativo en la región. Este mural se encuentra frente al Museo Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, un hermoso edificio que se distingue por su diseño colonial y su fachada blanca. Cerca de allí se encuentran el parque Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, que cuenta con una zona de juegos infantiles y la plaza Sucre; juntos conforman un complejo cultural y recreativo que ofrece a las familias un espacio para la diversión y el esparcimiento.
Además del complejo cultural Parque Ayacucho, la avenida Alejandro Humboldt alberga otros monumentos destacados que rinden homenaje a figuras clave de Venezuela y la región, como la plaza Miranda, el bulevar Miranda y la ribera del río Manzanares. Estos espacios también funcionan como zonas recreativas que ofrecen hermosos paisajes en pleno centro de la ciudad; por aquí discurre el río Manzanares, atravesado además por los puentes Guzmán Blanco y Mariño.

Today I am sharing my walk along Humboldt Avenue, where I discovered beautiful murals paying tribute to prominent figures from Sucre State—including poets, singers, composers, and musicians who have left a significant legacy in the region. This mural is located across from the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Museum, a beautiful building distinguished by its colonial design and white façade. Nearby, you will find Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Park—which includes a children's recreation area—and Sucre Plaza; together, they form a cultural and recreational complex that offers families a space for fun and leisure.
In addition to the Parque Ayacucho cultural complex, Alejandro Humboldt Avenue is home to other notable monuments honoring key figures from Venezuela and the region—such as Plaza Miranda, the Miranda Boulevard, and the Manzanares River waterfront. These areas also serve as recreational spaces offering beautiful scenery within the city center; the Manzanares River flows through this zone, which is also spanned by the Guzmán Blanco and Mariño bridges.
Opposite the museum, a beautiful mural adorns a large wall, depicting various figures associated with the region. Alongside artists and cultural icons, the mural features historical heroes such as Antonio José de Sucre, who was born in this city and played a pivotal role in the independence movements of Venezuela and other South American nations.
Al observar el mural, se distinguen varias figuras, entre ellas el reconocido músico Mucho Fuentes, representado con una mandolina; a su lado aparece otro músico, seguido por Ángel Alfonso, una figura local destacada. Looking at the mural, one can spot several figures, including the renowned musician Mucho Fuentes, shown holding a mandolin; beside him is another musician, followed by Ángel Alfonso, a prominent local figure. At the bottom of the wall, there is a depiction of an indigenous person swimming in the deep sea with a fishing harpoon or spear. Next, we see another view of the figures and part of the island that divides Humboldt Avenue, along with various trees and a lamppost; a well-known ice cream parlor—a popular meeting spot for park visitors and ice cream lovers—is located on the corner.
Next, we see an image of Antonio José de Sucre dressed in a military uniform of yellow, gold, red, and blue, complete with a medal and laurel wreaths on his chest. Beside him is another figure currently undergoing restoration; the murals have recently been undergoing repairs, and this particular figure is not yet finished. Following that is a distinguished woman known as "La Muñequera" (The Doll Maker), celebrated for creating beautiful rag dolls of various sizes. Next to her stands the poet Cruz Salmerón Acosta, author of the famous work Azul. Then we have Mr. Ignacio Arena, accompanied by another prominent musician; all these murals face the sea, reflecting the vast coastline that borders Sucre state. Finally, there is Luis Mariano Rivera, a distinguished composer and musician from Sucre; a theater facing Plaza Miranda was also built in his honor.
